Also in the 2 years to June 2019 they made a loss of £25.8m before player sales of £8m. In fact staff costs were almost twice the income the club generated. No club has a long term future with finances like that, so coronavirus is just the straw that broke the camel's back.
The summer will be painful for many - thousands of footballers out of contract and clubs struggling for income.
Whelan to blame for me, takes the club way above a level the attendances can support. Then sells them to less than reputable new owners and buggers off.
But yes finances in football from the very top to the very bottom are unsustainable, they’ll not be the last I’m sure in the next year or so.
