"capacity to facilitate socially distanced movement inside each area or zone (including concourses, staircases, toilets, concessions, etc), and the revised exit/emergency exit capacity"......................................"Consideration will also need to be given to: the acceptable number of passengers on public transport to and from the competition venue"
This is surely flawed from outset unless clubs don;t fully implement it all. I say that as I have been in a pub that has and another that hasn't been anywhere near as thorough. I say this in jest (and horror) an allocated time slot to enter the ground and some will have to sit in masks hours ahead of ko? And how to safely socially distance and exit? Stewards asking a row at a time to stand up and leave? (all socially distancing) Seriously its just unworkable to the point it will not happen.
Clear as mud but I expect we’ll muddle through and get 1,500 ish fans in the ground if we want. A lot of fans will either play it safe and stay away for either health reasons or not putting up with all the red tape reasons
I'm not so sure I would go to matches under such conditions. I'm even wary in supermarkets and choose the very quiet times (not as easy as it was due to shorter opening hours). Mind you, all this mask wearing should be helpful for someone on a ban.
I understand season ticket holders have been contacted and there is reference to wearing a mask "moving around" (so its reasonable to assume at least once sat in your bubble you no longer need to wear a mask). HOWEVER the report above just references wearing a face covering full stop. In an earlier post i suggested this was the way it would go. How the f*** does this work on the terraces? Lets get real young fans WILL stand TOGETHER in greater than groups of 6 and are the Stewards gonna split them up? Recipe for disaster. Further, how many fans will not wear, drop, lose, forget or most likely pull their masks to one side for a sing song?
None of this makes much sense. Its simply not joined up. And...if fans refuse to wear masks what will/can the club do? Will they refund tickets sold if someone doesn't want to watch wearing a mask?
Personally I think its got disaster written all over it. Yes, I appreciate the club have to follow FA/government guidelines. Once a second wave arrives, I wont apologise for saying we should've finished last season before starting a fresh one.
The "Fans back in stadiums" thread has been merged with "New Season dates confirmed for EFL" thread as more or less the same topics are now being discussed in both threads. The title of this thread has changed to "New Season dates confirmed for EFL/Fans back in stadiums"
I have a letter from the club via email saying a few things among them the requirement to wear masks when moving around and asking you to nominate people you wish to have in your social bubble while in the stadium...basically who are you going to seat next or near to. The social bubble bit doesn't apply to me as I do not have a seat.
George; I would imagine that if someone refused to wear a mask while walking around they would be removed from the ground. The letter does not state you are required to wear a mask when you are sitting or standing in the stadium.
The club are between a rock and a hard place. If the do not enforce masks they will be refused permission to open the ground. If they do enforce masks they are questions regarding the loss of personal freedom.

I agree with all you have said. BUT The message to season ticket holders (STH) about (only) wearing a face covering when moving around is different to the official website statement that just says wear a face covering. Its confusing or does a different rule apply to STH and non-STH? As for removing fans how you enforce this is another thing - surely all they need say is i am exempt - no one needs to ever prove it you don't as you enter Asda or Tescos etc.
Now before anyone laughs (remember I suggested a while back it will come to masks watching football) it would not surprise me if a "crash barrier" (segregation boarding of some sort) is erected all across the terracing (like the dividers in pubs) to separate out the social bubbles. Anyone fancy being a steward counting the maximum 6 in each segment of terracing?
next up - and I am thinking this could follow whats about to happen in non-league football, that the EFL (and PL) start with reduced capacity and the next phase its increased a bit more and so on. www.theguardian.com/world/2020/aug/19/fa-allows-some-fans-into-some-non-league-grounds-to-keep-game-alive such that do not be surprised if the first few games the club can ONLY admit STH. How the club is going to fit all these free NHS key workers in as well this season i do not know, it must be a nightmare trying to figure it all out!
