One game out of how many Simon? I’ve seen a lot of people want to talk about this outlier while ignoring what is actually a very impressive unity right across the world of football
I don't disagree. My point though was how many people are doing it out of respect for the cause and how many just going through the motions.
Initially it made an impact, a bit like the clapping the NHS. Not sure it does now though.
Interesting it doesn't extend to non league either....the 3 games I have attended so far and no knee to be seen.
I was a big fan of Dublin as a player, pundit and place 😀
He has now slighted me as a person because I shall not take a knee on cue
You can't go around throwing insults and accusations based on nothing otherthan non-compliance to a political movement
Do one Dion
I noticed that too. Apparently, according to Dublin, I may now be a racist, depending on the context of what he said. Perhaps he should ask a black, Zimbabwean ex-girlfriend of mine if that's the case. Or the non-white person I once physically defended from racism at some risk to myself. There have been other instances too, but I prefer not to blow my trumpet too much.
By coming out with such crap, he threatens to alienate a large number of people who find racism deplorable, even in its subtler forms - no - especially in its subtler forms.
Personally, I wouldn't boo players who choose to take the knee, whatever their reasons. My misgivings about taking the knee mainly relate to the likelihood of a backlash, which we are starting to witness.
But, hey, Dublin is entitled to his opinion too. If he wants to regard me as a racist that's his error, though it is possible that his follow-up comment only referred to those booing. I won't condemn him out of hand, because there may be a context issue about what he said.

Agreed, but - playing devils advocate - individual opinions will vary on whether:
- actively booing the gesture, exceeds the bounds of simple 'non-compliance'...?
- the gesture in itself, actually IS demonstrating support for a 'POLITICAL' movement...?
What i will predict is that - fairly or unfairly - the media will almost inevitably exploit the previous history of Millwall fans as part of the narrative & likely ignore some of the brilliant community projects that the club are engaged in.

Yes, agree with that, especially the highlighted bit.
Personally, I certainly wouldn't boo it but I can't really see what it achieves anymore, and as Paul above says, there is the risk that it has become self-defeating. It's a bit like clapping the NHS. Do something tangible that actually tackles racism and you will have my support.
About time someone did it. BLM is all false. It was set up based on a lie, they align themselves with Antifa (most fascist people on the planet) and BLM want to defund the police.
Next time im at a Crawley game i will be doing the same.
Hope more fans up and down country do. Its 50-50 reaction online.
History teaches us that no matter how sincere & spontaneous a grassroots response is at the outset, there are always those who seek to exploit it for their own or counter agenda.
However, so far, I really fail to see ANY reasonable or compelling case for fans to actively jeer the gesture...(?)
Wasn’t allowed to have poppies on the England shirt because it was “political” but players are forced to take a knee? And how much longer is this going on? I really hope we don't see this next Saturday at Crawley. If we do will fans on here boo?

Get politics out of sport. No place for politics of any persuasion. Any political stance in sport will be divisive and no one is allowed anymore to sit on the fence, everyone is forced to take a stance. Pundits should comment on sport not politics. They are abusing their platform to perform political activism.
Good on Millwall👏👏. More Fans to follow suit, please🙏

Really! Millwall booed and you support that? I read the view on here that BLM is a political movement. It is at its core anti racism while not agreeing with the where and when to protest or even how. I am not sure why it’s offends so many white people. I can not pretend to know what it is like to be a minority let alone be black and here home fans boo. For me it reinforces the need.
We have come along way I remember monkey chants at Town Mead int he 80s. The publicity and front of mind reminder that we still have a problem in society is worth the acknowledgement in my view.

Well it is certainly front of mind again.
At a stroke... the subject is back in the headlines, given a prominence that was starting to fade and a new found momentum & relevance too.
