I'm sure Young has a long term injury but thought NG was a shoe in for Bez but not a sign of him in training video's or friendlies.Morais is not mentioned at all on the Oldham site but his twitter page shows him at a fitness training camp.
All very strange, what’s happened to him and why do players just seem to disappear? Injured? Released? Personal issues? All very odd and seems us fans are not even given a basic explanation.

It’s odd but I guess it’s down to their privacy, I expect a lot of the time it’s fitness and poor attitude
After the friendly v Maidstone today Lewis Young has given an interview regarding the performance, result and his new role as part of the coaching team.
As Filipe Morrais still has a year left on his contract and he has gone AWOL, then surely we could with-hold his wages until such time he either turns up or decides to tear up his contract and leave by "mutual consent".

From what was reported at the time Fil asked to leave Crawley so he could be nearer to his family in the North. Crawley being good employers acceded to his request and loaned him to Oldham for the rest of the season.
The season ended.
The new season started. Fil is no longer at Oldham and, as far as I can tell, he is not back with Crawley (there was a post stating that John Yems had not even met him (I must admit to doubting this due to the time Yems arrived and the time Morais left but I could have that mixed up). If he is not here, at Oldham nor, as far as I can tell, at any other professional club, what's happened to him?
In normal time losing a player of his calibre and quality would be a blow but now, with the new rules in place this season, even though we can continuously dock his salary if he is not turning up for work, we may be unable to get another player in because we have to budget for his wages just in case he decides to come back.
Now all of that could be rubbish. Fil could be happily back at Crawley and not being chosen for the squad which then begs the question why?
The club has a history of not informing the fan base about...well anything really and when that happens speculation starts. When all is said and done we have no "right to know" but if the club wishes to end the speculation it can.
I don't know why you persist with this "AWOL/not turning up for work" line, Jim.
The most likely outcome is the club know exactly where he is and some agreement has been reached with him or his agent for him not to be present at training.
At 34 we are not going to get a fee for him, so perhaps he has just been left to find a new club.
Ok so the club haven't put out a statement, but what did you really expect them to say?
Just add him to the list of 'worst signings made by Crawley' and move on.
