Gave up on i-Follow after the Millwall game, seems a good call. Just seen highlights, both goals looked preventable. Shoddy
Yes, both were very poor goals to give away, but that shouldn't detract from the fact that Cheltenham were much better - by some distance in my view.
I've watched Millwall, Oldham and yesterday's game now, and must say I'm worried. Ok, Millwall - higher league team and players still getting to know each other. Oldham, good in parts but the last 30 mins was poor and worrying. We very nearly threw that away (...and look at Oldham's league position now). Yesterday - just so lacking in creativity and guile or any suggestion that we had anyone who (Pooch-style) could do something a little different to create an opening. Defensive unit looked vulnerable - are Dallison and Sesay injured?.
Early days, I know - so possibly overly negative. I hope so.
The most worrying aspect to the performance was that we were so weak all over the pitch and let Cheltenham bully us. Yems said that we gave it a go, if that was us giving it a go then it will be a very long season as we will get bullied again by other teams in this league- this is how it is in the lower leagues. The midfield were totally ineffective and bypassed time and again. This is becoming a recurring theme. I thought without Ferguson swaggering around like a peacock weād compete a bit better, but it didnāt look like we were competing much at all. The players need to toughen up and so does Yems trying to deflect blame onto the officials. From what Iāve seen so far, even in the wins weāve had weāve not convinced, I cannot just write this off as āone of those gamesā we have to compete better all over pitch.
