www.crawleytownfc.com/news/2020/october/redz-live-stream/ How do fans feel about this? It is an additional option and season ticket holders gain entry free. Limited tables, need to book up in advance with strict face coverings etc. and so in in place. Perhaps an opportunity to have a sing-song, but hang on isnt that against Government guidance (I just cant keep up with all the changes!) and whilst my initial thoughts were this has gotta be more reliable than ifollow general manager Tom says "I again ask for understanding should there be any technical hitches- it's our first go after-all!" - that in itself isnt encouraging me, but more so being right next to the pitch not able to see it and the temptation to try and look through the turnstile gates etc. is all too unsettling for me personally. Overall the club are obviously doing what they can and I recognise that. Im curious what fans on here think of this though? Im also very surprised that this has been allowed to take place but if the club have been seen to have put al safety measures in place, pull it off, them it can only strengthen cause to return fan INSIDE the stadium!

I think it's an excellent idea for those that want it. I might have gone for it myself but for... Well, one of my dearest friends came close to death with covid a few months back and stuff like that can change you. I keep away from public indoor places as much as possible. He's doing well again these days BTW.
I do find it incredible that you are allowed to watch the game in Redz bar but not allowed to have a small amount of supporters in the ground out in the open air. I appreciate that the club needs to do all it can to bring in revenue. Watching last nights game there was a noticeable lack of ball boys. Why don’t we ask for volunteers say 50 on each side and 20 behind each goal. They would be able to spread out easily. I would offer my services free of charge.

Im also very surprised that this has been allowed to take place...
There is a bit of an ongoing confused approach between local & national ...erm... 'leaders', about the actual status of "Social Clubs" applicable to covid rules... which can vary depending on the type of licence in place...(?)
As Paul has mentioned above there have been some awful outcomes of Covid and football distrupted is minor in comparrison. I do however massively miss watching Crawley play live and Redz bar, ifollow or if live on the TV c/o BBC just doesnt do it for me. I feel quite detached from the club and watching the defeat of Tranmere had a real bittersweet feeling. I'm angry why I'm paying far more (than non STH) for a shoddy ifollow and as mentioned above here so much doesnt make sense. I cant see an end to fans not in stadiums. I can see the club needs to do all it can to raise funds and is engaging as best it can in difficult times. Personally its a big no to Redz bar as its too close to what Im missing.
George, there are quite obviously loads of anomalies: For starters, our opponents on Tuesday night are from the original Tier 3 zone and our team traveled to the likes of Salford & Oldham, all with obviously related health risks...
...just, so that we can have football. As the government are prepared to make it an exception, because they recognise the value to national morale in a crisis.
I agree, it is strange, weird, frustrating, unfulfilling & just not right... But on balance I am grateful it is still happening...!

I would happily be a free-of-charge ball boy out in the open air and distanced from others. And I would keep a promise to return the ball as soon as possible no matter how the game was going. Not like the time I was in the crowd and pretended to fumble it a few time while our players got back to defend a corner. Being an official ball boy carries a higher onus to play fair, in my view. Wouldn't want anyone doing a Hazzard on me
The infection rate has gone from 17 per 100,000 to 123 per 100,000 in about four or five weeks. That roughly matches what the government were saying about a doubling every 9 days: 1: 17 2: 34 3: 68 4: 136 By Guy Fawkes Night it ought to be around 200. I don't know why some people are so shocked, as it's a typical progression for an epidemic, until measures are taken. The only reason I still work is because I'm a lone outdoor worker who can distance.

I agree with what you are saying all I would add is the longer fans are kept out of stadiums the less fulfilling it feels. Ifollow doesn't help for sure. There is also unanswered questions of re-engagement once football (hopefully restarts and starts to look 'normal' again) as clubs have floating fans that (along with more regulars) may start to question the value and need etc for football. It can be a habit for some and therefore that habit will have been replaced elsewhere on Saturday afternoons. At present though its about keeping all possibilities for the future going and whilst the Redz streaming seems mad to me, I fully understand why the club are doing it and for someone out there that perhaps doesn't have the internet it may be a fantastic opportunity, just like the FA Cup game being shown on BBC TV live.
