Am I right in that I heard that if we receive a fee for any players , we will lose whatever financial package we have received from the Premier league bail out? For example if we sell watters for 500,000 we will have to give back 350,000 to Premier league.. so on that basis we would be getting 150,000 for watters.... That would not be that great so need to hold out for the million + add ons.
Thats news to me and would be an awful stitch up by the greedy PL. As for MK he would be a fool to join them with PL teams showing interest....unless its Brighton purchase and immediately on loan to MK. Thats the sort of madness that happens in the greedy lives of the PL.

Selling Watters for any price just compounds the club mentality of buy em cheap sell em quick! Be far better long term to keep him and let him ply his trade for us in League 1 and increase his value substantially. Taking a quick profit (if its there after bailout adjustment!) gives me a feeling that before long we will be back in conference as we lack ambition and are happy to bumble along making excuses as needed

I don't agree we will head back to the conference but what I will say is it makes it extremely unlikely we can ever get promoted. You need a player or two of the Tubbs, Watters quality to get you up and if we lose that player along the way then we lose that promotion push. Speculate and accumulate and yes if we say got promoted and he knocks out say 30 plus goals on that journey then his value increases and its a win-win we can replace him with 2 decent strikers.
I think the best thing for the club and Max would be for him to stay until at least the end of the season.
Firstly, at the rate Max is scoring he’s on course to score over 30 goals this season and with those kind of stats for a 21 player we’ll able to command a big fee. Much bigger than half a good season.
Secondly, I think it would be too big a step up yet for Max with only half a season of league football to make the step up to a championship or Premier League team who, let’s be honest, would be the only ones who could afford to make a good offer.
It’s all speculation though until the club have a concrete offer, but are the club really in desperate need for a cash injection? Covid must have undoubtedly had a big effect on us as well as all the other clubs, especially at our level. I just think that it could be a short sighted move for the club who could not only cash in more if Max stays with us and continues his amazing scoring season, his goals could also fire us into the play offs and maybe promotion to L1 (if we sort the defending out as well). I certainly wouldn’t blame Max if an offer came in from a championship or Premier League and he wanted to advance his career and of course who the heck wouldn’t want a massive pay rise?!
So, I am sure that I am not the only one who has been having sleepless nights over Watters and what will happen (I joke, to some extent)
Rumours are that he wasn't in the last two matches because he was about to be sold. However, surely he would have to be on the cusp of the transfer being completed but here we are, nearly on Wednesday of that week, and there seems to be no movement. I also think it would be weird for Max to not be in the squad due to transfer before the transfer window (eg FGR game) and wonder if he is actually injured.
I just hope Yems is resting Watters for the Leeds game and that could potentially be his last game.
Let us just enjoy what we have had of him so far and will hopefully have in the future. If he does go, we are lucky have still have two brilliant strikers in Tom and Ash.

COME ON YOU REDSSSSSSSSS
He got taken off at half time against Newport on Boxing Day injured. It was said in the commentary that he has a hamstring issue.
The club rarely give updates on players injuries which in some way can understand as your giving your opponents some information about the possible team line up - by not giving this information keeps your opponents they can’t second guess how the team will set up - to be honest Yems uses this to his advantage
My gut feeling is that he'll play against Leeds to give him the opportunity to shine on the big stage and potentially increase his value? Especially when Leeds have a major injury crisis in defence. Erdem spoke on one of the talk of the town episodes in recent games and made it quite clear they were looking to sell for the right money. He also said we virtually had two confirmed transfers in which haven't been announced yet. The risk in waiting until the end of the season is if his form drops that 750-1m pricetag the club wants would potentially drop by half
Think I would most like to hear the news that: "Crawley Town FC are delighted to announce the signing of... ...a contract extension by Max Watters"
However, I would speculate that in addition to his obvious qualities, there is an another significant market factor - completely overshadowed by a global pandemic - which may mean that he is particularly attractive to Championship clubs at this moment...(?)
I am not actually sure what the impact of leaving the EC is on employment rules, but suspect that the never ending supply of reasonably-priced talent from the various leagues on the continent - that clubs have relied on for decades - is no longer as simple to access...!
