“We must remember the work of John Yems and Lee Bradbury in not only identifying the player, but also the evident successful coaching and development of Max in such a short period.”
Amazing what happens when you let the manager get on with things.
Good luck to him.
Actually a fair point Simon. Erdem and co’s transfers have almost always been terrible. Let Yems and Bradders identify players and leave the negotiations to Erdem and co.
After putting pen to paper at Cardiff City Stadium, Max said: "When I first found out about Cardiff's interest I was immediately attracted to it. Wales is a lovely place to live, so it came down to that really.
He obviously hasn't been there
Seriously though, best wishes to him.
Interesting to note that the Cardiff fans are wondering how he'll fit in with Neil Harris's direct playing style. Be interesting to see.

Before Max was seen as a million pound player we were constantly told by the owners 'dont worry we are in good financial position blah blah blah'so why sell now on verge of play off? Just watch our form dip now. Bye bye play offs.

Certainly feels like a lack of ambition. I get the financial side of things, but he was going to be a big part of any push for the playoffs. Yes we’ve done ok without him, but that’s 3-4 games. I like Nadesan a lot, but I don’t think between him and Nichols, they have enough goals in them. This is the best position we’ve been in in years in the table, and this feels like the day we must finally accept we are never getting out of league 2
Because if you get an offer that meets the asking price and that fee will be a massive cash boost then it’s very difficult to turn down. Yes they reassured us about our financial position, but this isn’t contradicted by selling Max.

Max you really havnt travelled much if you think Cardiff is a great place. In Crawley we have the wonderful Tilgate, Ifield, Northgate, Pound Hill and nearby Faygate, Horley and Pease Pottage. No competition. And beyond. West Sussex is a place of outstanding natural beauty.

What you have said here I 100% agree with. I think the only way up may be if we ever have 1 or 2 Watters again in the future and a deal falls through, we hold onto them and then see the value of retaining them to see us up. It feels like a dream now. Yes we have excellent management and club scouting, but its asking a lot from them to always get it right and again straight away.

Or we could just wait and see who we bring in and how the next few games go...

If you get the financial side of things then its not lack of ambition is it.

It’s a million in, that’ll keep the club treading water for another year or so. Lack of ambition to go up.
