I see Tom? Eastman was in their line-up. We borrowed him briefly some years back when we were in a hole for cover. I thought he did okay with us, but some thought otherwise. He seems to be a regular for Colchester for a number of years now so I guess he must be of reasonable league 2 standard.
Tom played for Crawley in our "first" promotion season in the EFL.
Was he as good as our first choice at the time? I'd say no but that didn't make him a bad player. He's a local lad at Colchester and seems to be a one club man there but he is a little bit better than league 2 imho.
When I saw Tom Eastman playing for Colchester last year I thought that he had “filled out” and looked a lot stronger than when he played for us. Seems to be a regular for the ewes. Good luck to him.

I can't recall who he was filling in for as it was some years ago. Maybe Kyle MacFadzean or Pablo Mills? If so, no, he wasn't as good as our first choices, but he had far less experience under his belt back then.
Yes we had Mills and McFadzean out at the same time, and Wassmer was put out to fallow shall we say after Morecambe, and I think Dempster was out on loan. Claude Davis joined around the same time and were the pairing for a while.
I cant quite recall the sequence of events that lead to Eastman being brought in. Fadz was out and Mills had a very bad injury but was it at the same time?
Actually JB; Im pretty sure Wassmer played the game after Morecambe (Swindon??). I stand by what I said at the time. He needed to be taken out of the firing line but I didn't expect him to hardly play for us again. Still think we should have tried to bring him along but we then signed Davies, Joe Walsh and Mark Connolly and he was never getting ahead of them.
