The Interview was as expected. It all depends on his new signings. His signings beginning of 2020/21 were GREAT, his 5 signings in January 2021 were CRAP. If his latest signings are good , he'll be ok for a couple of years, if they are not good he'll be gone by October. Early Days .....
Dissapointing to lose and last minute but its very early season of course. 'New' teams often start well.
Being nearby I took in the FGR v Sutton game (2-1); nothing changes re FGR ground. No parking (fiver in nrby school if get there early enough) and 30mins to travel down that awful steeped rd just to get to the village roundabout upon exit. Ground is 100% veggie and asking what's in the burger they had no idea, neither did i eating it. Chicken nuggets tasted like already chewed cardboard, yummy, not!
Football served up wasnt great but had its moments. Sutton were physical verging on dirty at times. Ref let lots go including physio on pitch about 15 yd from touchline when restarting game. Also, restarted game w/o his whistle that I imagine if being assessed wouldve got him into lots of trouble.
Enzio played most of match for Sutton before being sub'd. Wasnt used enough and needs to play wide to be more effective. Drifted into midfirld a fair bit. Defending not great from him. Maybe not the player he was. Sutton were very direct especially the keeper who loved pumping it high and long, even in thunderous rain (in amongst the sunshine) and gusts of wind. FGR wanted to play more of a passing game and did better when more got forward and they attacked with pace. Game could've gone either way after FGR led then Sutton equalised. Sutton keeper came up for a last minute corner but FGR held on. Pathetic away support 300+ for their first entry into league football. 1500 Rovers fans in a crowd of 1800.
I look forward to seeing Crawley Town play and a return to the Broadfield. In case anyone was wondering my guess is only 2-3% of fans wore masks at FGR.
I don’t get it, we have three strikers and they didn’t play. What’s the point in signing all these players if we never end up playing them to then sell them on? Ashford, Rodari, German?

To be fair - Rodari was injured. Ashford was on the bench but the early injury to Tunicliffe limited the sub options and they used Ferry/Tilley instead.
German missed a lot of pre season playing for Grenada but I don't have any idea what he is still doing at Crawley.

Another classic Yems interview. Bet the media guy is thinking- ‘it’s gonnna be a looong season!’
😂 I know I’m in a minority on this but don’t mind him telling us honestly he hated the performance. That vaguely comforts me. Not totally of course because he picked the team so the unhappiness has to extend to his own personal role in it

JY, is getting too blunt and brutal; there is a line between a frank analysis of the team's performance and being destructive and risking alienating the squad.

If we put the performance to one side and look at the result a 1-0 loss opening the season isnt a disaster. We are no different to other teans all looking for that first point and initial win as will our first goal. It will come. In the meantime I look forward I havent seen football in the flesh at Crawley for a long time. I watched FGR v Sutton yesterday and it felt normal again (apart from worst catering ever), bring it on at the Broadfield and lets all get behind the team. I cant wait to scream and shout FOR the reds. If we are hammered 5-0 i wont be happy but I am not gonna miss an opportunity to support the team. COYR

Cannot agree with you more there, also if I remember rightly Bolton lost their first 4 league matches last season and yet still got promoted, so don't think losing tomorrow automatically means straight away we will have a poor season. Hopefully we can get very good numbers through the turnstiles for the three home games coming up and support the lads
