I don't think anyone could see that coming - especially the keeper. He only scores special goals and that was one special match winner from NT. I thought we sat too deep second half even when JY changed it upfront, but goals win you games.
Yea we didn’t play as well as last week but got the win, funny old game.
The big positive was Lynch who has superb. Tsaroulla was a fairytale as his error gave them the space for the equaliser.
The midfield looked a bit off it today, too many stray passes. Still not convinced what Payne offers that Powell was already doing in the centre last year but better.
Francomb had a bit of an off day. Ashford anonymous and it was a big relief when Nadderz came on.
An important win in the context of some bad luck this season, the rub ran for us today
I don't believe Tsuralla is a fullback, too short, can't tackle but with his close control, pace and eye for goal he should be played further up the park.
Lynch and Dallison as the centre back pairing were incredibly reassuring. Hope Yem’s sticks with them two at least until Tunni returns
I was surprised we didn't sign him pre season, at least for a year. Good experience, local lad (in football terms) and a leader on the pitch. With Tunicliffe out it really is what is needed.

I imagine the club were cautious due to his age and recent injury record i.e he didn’t play the whole of last season. If he stays fit he could potentially be a brilliant signing for us and hopefully he can stay for at least the whole season.
Joel Lynch didn't stop talking and directing the defenders all game yesterday - he encouraged the younger players the whole time - a great leader and will be a great signing - won virtually everything in the air and gave very little away all game. That was the difference from the Bristol game although I thought we played marginally better at Bristol - but its a win, and Nick Tsaroulla made amends for his part their goal by scoring a screamer at the end. This normally happens to us that we concede late on - our turn this time.
Again our opponents supporters very derogatory about our performance - saying we were very poor and in some cases the worst team they have played, how can you lose to a team like Crawley etc etc - its the same old story when ever we win a game. Our first win against Carlisle since 2012 makes it all the sweeter.
Great result. Important result to kick start our season hopefully abd push us far away from the relegation zone. With Nichols back, Lynch in at centre half and Tunnicliffe hopefully back soon that’s 3 players that can make a big difference to us.
Yes, I saw those comments by their fans. Okay so it wasn't a classic feast of football but if our team is really as bad as they say then what does it say about their side? I remember our first year in the Conference when they had just dropped out of the Football League. Some bloke at work was banging on in a discussion group about how he couldn't believe they were playing the likes of Crawley Town. I emailed him to point out that both clubs were where they deserved to be based on results! I emailed him again after we beat them at the Broadfield but funnily enough he never replied to that! :-)
And I agree about Lynch - that was a superb performance from him and just what we needed.

I recall they returned to Carlisle to experience the high-water mark... Literally...!

Indeed, that was what I meant by saying that our season properly starts now, just hoping that the last month will be it for having injury problems!
As long as the home form is really strong and we don't have any more costly injuries I'd say we have a better chance of making the playoffs than getting relegated, as there are some truly terrible teams in this league. Any sort of consistency will get you right up there (look at where Bolton Wanderers finished last season just because of how they played for 3 months)
...as there are some truly terrible teams in this league...
Hmmmnnn... without trying to undermine the positivity of your post, we really need to change our established habit of recent seasons, where we have developed a tendency to do better against the good teams... but underachieve against the bad ones...!

That has indeed been our Achilles heel the last couple of seasons or so, one week we beat the team that's top of the league, then we go on and lost to a team that's struggling to avoid relegation. My main point was that you don't have to be that good really in order to do well, and if the team showed more consistency there's no reason why we can't get at least playoffs in this league
