it’s because Tony Craig got put into team of the day😂
Ha! Craig was my vote for man of the match tho Kwesi also deserved it. The coach contingent chose Ludwig who is improving with every game and gave a real wholehearted display
The way in which Tilley was sent out on loan was what really annoyed me, as I thought it was done in such an unprofessional way and even if there were issues with rustiness it would have made way more sense just to put him on more intense training programmes rather than leave him out in the cold for a few months
In what sense was it unprofessional? I get you might have preferred him to stay or maybe even play but this is very overwrought language to describe quite a normal everyday decision by a manager
It was the fact that it was done minutes after he'd played in an EFL trophy game (having made a few appearances in the league earlier in the season) and Yems was complaining about not having enough players due to injuries. Pretty much everyone was saying about how weird the whole thing was at the time and so many questions were being asked about how the club was being run that evening (I myself had a go at the club on Twitter for it as it was handled so badly).
To Yems' benefit, I don't think he had much of a say in it, my guess it was done by those higher up so they could free the wage bill temporarily to sign a few more youngsters in the desperate hope they'd find the next Watters (which is never going to work for a club our size in the long term). Think calling it unprofessional is an understatement (and that's aimed at the board, not John Yems)

I disagree with selection decisions all the time but none of us are privy to stuff that happens on the training ground that may lead a manager in a certain direction. I don’t know how you can really know the decision was taken for financial reasons rather than to give the player opportunities to get sharper. Guesswork is hardly fair to club employees if it’s an accusation
Probably a few other players who could also potentially benefit from a short-term loan spell as Tilley has, Rodari and Khaleel spring to mind but that’s just my opinion from a distance. The playing side staff will know best on this

Rodari potentially depending on if we sign a striker in January, Khaleel sadly I feel we probably need to move on from as I think he would be in first team squads regularly now if he was going to break into the first team.
Ashford's loan spell last season did work for him and he was playing quite well at the start of the season I thought before Appiah hit his hot streak. Tilley's one made no sense, and he got injured a few days after it happened anyway so there wasn't really any benefit at all from it. The reason why I don't think Yems made that decision was because I'd sincerely doubt he would name a player in a squad and bring him on as a sub in a game if he knew that he was being sent off on loan the same evening. You could tell in his post match interview that day he was really annoyed about what was going on around the club at that time

The purpose of a short-term loan is to give players more game time so why wouldn’t Yems give him game time before he went if he could ? It was a Papa John’s game you are talking about, so it really doesn’t indicate he was a central part of Yems’ league strategy at that stage. Yes he got injured after one game at Dorking but that’s utterly irrelevant as to the purpose of the loan, which the Dorking manager is on record as saying it’s Crawley wanting to give him more game time. Why would he say that if it wasn’t true? Is he in on the plot to mislead everyone too? You say Yems was angry on the night of the loan? Perhaps watching his team get beat 6-1 might be the more plausible reason for that, rather than him being plotted against by others at the club?
It’s all very speculative reasoning on your part, which is fine and you’re entitled to it, but it just comes across as too strong to label it unprofessional behaviour by Crawley Town FC. You need something a bit more tangible than that in my view to justify such a strong conclusion. Khaleel is 18 years old, so in my view has plenty more time to develop
The Man of the match vote on the coach was a close run thing between Ludwig Francillette, James Tilley and Tony Craig - in the end it finished in that order with Ludwig getting the final vote. It was a complete team effort and they deserved the win.
On the match yesterday it wasn't until the evening that we realised that neither teams physio/medical teams actually came on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes - which was a credit to both teams who didn't go down under tackles and feign injuries - the added minutes were for the goal celebration and substitutions - and credit to the referee and his assistant's who were excellent - to the fact that we didn't notice them all game and they kept the game flowing.
Our small but vocal support at the game was brilliant for the whole game - out sung the 3000 home support.

What an absolutely brilliant post. Sometimes a 'Like' doesn't seem enough. Looks like football won for many reasons.
Absolutely cracks me up in the official club video that Yems said 69 was his favourite number anyway 🤣🤣🤣 hopefully that’s not another FA charge on the way 😃
Breath of fresh air that he tries to give people a laugh, football is meant to be entertainment!

Some are bound to think that it leaves a bad taste in the mouth...!
