I hope we know what we are doing with these contracts.
We seem to have signed Cox, Djalo, Randall, Sanoh, Verheydt and Yorweth on 2 or 3 year deals and it's not as if any of them has set the world on fire this season.

It's a weird situation. I don't have a problem per se with long term deals for some of our players. Be nice to have a bit of stability and continuity on the playing front. But where it all falls down is HK not actually playing some of these guys e.g. Cox and Kaby. What is the point of 2 or 3 year deals if they can't get a game? There's a serious lack of joined up thinking at the club. But then we all know that anyway.

The problem I have is if they are any good (Collins) they sign a 3 year deal and then decide after 1 that they need to be 'nearer their family' or whatever the line is.
If they are not any good we are stuck for 3 years as we cannot shift them without paying them off.
wonder if Cox and Baby will get the opportunity to show if they are any good ?
I thought Cox did OK when we bought him back against Swindon and Yeovil and we won both games.
Not sure what the story is with Kaby. I assure he was another Selim signing as neither Drummy nor Kewell seems to rate him and just like Sanoh it's a 2 year deal to sit on the bench or in the stands.

Kaby will have been a Drummy signing 100% from his time at Chelsea. I believe he is the only centre mid capable of playing through the park in the way Kewell would like to. What is the point of playing that way with Taj & Smith. Smith is great at arriving late and getting on the end of things, but both him or Taj (lower conference south team at best) are going to lose the ball if they play in tight areas. Seems to be the forgotten man...Have we all forgotten Kaby's performances last season? Everyone focusing on Cox, but seems to be a few scapegoats from last season that have been outcast. How are the likes of Taj, Sanoh, Camara and Doherty in the squad instead of Joe McN, Kaby, Cox and Clifford?

This. I rate Kaby, Cox and Big Joe. The fact they are not even getting in the 18 is worrying. Cox delivers a good dead ball, he'd be an option off the bench if nothing else. But he won't be able to show how good he can be for us of we don't give him a chance. Same with Kaby. And I think Joe is our best CB, along with Connolly. HK obvisouly disagrees, and sees Lelan and Yorwerth as his CB pairing. And i am really not sure how Taj is keeping Bulman out of the side.

County fan in peace. Long contracts in L2 are a gamble it is true but it's a difficult balance to make. A few years for an exciting young prospect you don’t want to lose and also for the players who are indispensably good week after week is a no brainer but it’s folly to dish too many out because it can get you into trouble. As a Trust run club we have to err on the side of caution, I don’t think we’ve got anyone on more than a 2 year stint.

Stray passes, stay hands, fist...mustve been red for violent conduct and we gave him a three year deal....whoever agreed that needs their head examined.
