You'd have thought there'd be regulations preventing agents from having full time positions at clubs. Even if there isn't, still don't think it's right as it's without a doubt a conflict of interest
Maybe this partly explains some of the terrible signings of the past few years...
Just noticed that Selim is acting as his agent and is in the photo of him being announced as a Colchester player... Seems a bit odd to me. Is it normal to have someone so heavily involved at the club acting as a players agent?
Hmm… seems you might be right. My apologies. Selim works for the agency that represents Dallison. WTF?!
Why is the guy in charge of recruitment at our club selling one of our players to another club and presumably making money from the deal?! CONFLICT OF INTEREST? What in the name of tin pottery is this?!
Is Selim representing other players at this club? Is he bringing in certain players to the club to make money for who and then selling good players like Dallison to make money for who?
My thoughts exactly, I wouldn't have believed it either without evidence but it wouldn't let me post the link! There must be a simple explanation.. or at least I'm hoping.

The club are planning on releasing something about this soon

I cannot fathom any good reason why Selim is doing this even if this is legal I think it makes the club look utterly tinpot and his position at the club recruiting players looks like a complete farce now. The evidence is damning that Selim is acting as an agent for Dallison and presumably other players at our club and around this level. How can we trust he has the best interests of the club at heart when making transfers and is not in it for personal gain?

Selim needs to leave the club immediately if that is the case

[Unnecessary personal remark removed by Admin]Imagine where we'd be without the million we got for Watters, it funded the club through the catastrophic loss of revenue from the pandemic. Dread to think where we'd be without it. [Admin edit repeat of aforementioned]

You were calling for Yems to be sacked after Port Vale. Who'd be left here after you had your way, a few stewards?
Important to stress that we’ve made the decision on Dallison from a position of strength in terms of how Yems has decided to organise our defence.
As someone who has watched both our recent victories against LO and Colchester, it’s obvious that the decision to reorganise around a back 3 had been critical to that upturn in fortunes. And that success has been achieved without our player of the season and best defender who is waiting in the wings to come in hopefully very soon. So it’s clear there is a very obvious football rationale behind the decision that the club have taken on Dallison, much as he was liked similar to McNerney.
Sometimes in football you get combinations that are greater than the sum of the parts, and that’s what I think has happened now with our defence, each of our players there is lifting the contribution of the others.
Ludwig is a great talent but still raw and prone to creating a few wild ricochets. What better to mask that by teaming him with two real wily old campaigners. Craig is rarely flavour of the month on social media but is much respected by our loyal away following, our fans who see most of our football and whose opinions have the greatest factual evidence behind them. Lynch has such a commanding presence on the pitch, a once quicksilver player who has now adapted with age to use physicality and footballing intelligence to beat attackers.
They’ve formed a great team unit of 3. It won’t be obvious which of them will be eventually replaced by a top form Tunnicliffe. That’s the real background to the decision on Dallison, who would likely got limited football compared to the options we have.
One other thing worth mentioning is that a back 3 system puts less premium on signing full backs. We saw how well wide players like Tilley and Ferry did at wing back - and that’s before we have the matchwinner Tsaroulla and the ever improving Davies back. It’s not clear we would put scare resources here unless we came across a full back who was a real talent we could develop to later sell on.
It might also be that TD commanded higher wages and its likely the club are suffering financially and have had to take finances into account too. I think a pattern of higher numbers of players to start the season with, get to some relative comfort position/points in the league and start the new year moving players on, is not to be unexpected.
