I have no idea if the rumours are true or not. I have heard them and other parts saying the club is being sold to t8wo A8mericans but the source of these is not exactly someone close to the club so I kept my council and waited for developments.
I will say that we have been very lucky with Ziya Eren, and its not that long ago we had some very dodgy owners, but if he does decide to sell we should all thank him and welcome him back if he decides to visit.
who knows if its true and if it was what's to stop the American drive for profits to move us lock stock and barrel to Horley, Horsham or who knows where!
I've sensed for a while now that Mr Eren may be seeking an exit (see PV thread). The 'Crawley Family' broadcasts faded out some time ago and some things like transfers seem to be fairly random. Losing Kelly and Joe Comper was a step backwards and comments JY has made indicate his frustration at some of the decisions.
On the other hand I tip my hat to ZE, putting in £1m a year of his cash to just stand still right through the pandemic without depending on debt, bail outs etc. That is serious money and many clubs would love an owner who does that without drama and noise. So it's his right to do it his way.
On balance owners like managers have a limited life span - it proved the same with the Dulys, Majeeds, Prospect Estates, PH and now Ziya Eren. The club probably needs new energy and direction. Let's see.
The signs are there I think even when you look around the ground. I've noticed some of the toilet ceilings have holes in them and there are posters of players advertising 2019's kit still on display around the east side of the south terrace. Parts of the stadium badly need renovating and I hope soon too that if we're to get a lot more investment as a result of an ownership change that we'll also finally see a permanent structure in place at the east end.
Also the shop doesn't seem to have much stock in which is a shame as I think the club could be missing out on a lot of revenue if they were to create more merchandise to sell
on a positive note we did get the scoreboard, the gents dryer in the West Stand Works, the pitch is very good and we are safe again! However there's a lot more that could be done with more investment but why would you invest in a rented ground?

That's right. To make money some Americans are going to buy Crawley Town and relocate them to the metropolis that is Horley.
Presumably depends on the terms of the lease. Maybe the rent reflects the fact that the club do the repairs.
As is common with commercial leases.
Going back to when I had to look into these matters - things may have changed since - there were two elements: - lease - licence The former essentially covered tenancy obligations, which were quite extensive & included repair, maintenance, security. The latter set out operating rules for matchday, commercial & community use.
Edit: Just to state the obvious, the licence aspect is designed to enable the club to exploit the venue for commercial gain. Apart from Redz bar on matchday & occasional private hire of the bar or the lounge this has never been the asset that was intended. However the potential remains & really should be revisited.
So, as far as anyone can tell - it is just rumour with no facts at all.
If it was just rumour, the club wouldn't say "we can't comment at this time". It would say "it's not true".
My hunch is that if absolutely nothing was going on Erdem or someone else would have put out a statement by now saying something along the lines of 'we have no plans to sell the club at this time'

Pretty much every club across the land is always for sale if someone comes with the right money.
As for the club saying they can’t comment at this time. That could be so that they don’t have to answer every single social media rumour going forward

Yep, just like every player is for sale at the right price.
But you don't hear clubs saying "we can't comment". Instead they say "he isn't for sale", or "we don't plan to sell him" or or "we expect him to be here next season"......
