How much has covid and long term effects affected the squad? Don't think its necessarily all black and white.
Because there is zero info coming from the club regarding the injury status of players, we just never know why certain players go AWOL for weeks at a time. I know the club are under no obligation to tell us anything, but the wall of silence regarding player fitness etc, is incredibly frustrating for fans.
They could have had covid, might have a minor injury, a major injury, they might just be being rested or struggling for match fitness, out of favour, frozen out (Dallison) ..... we just never know. So it's hard to gauge why certain players are lacking form at certain times. But I still think training on an artificial pitch is working against us.
Yes it is frustrating sometimes. While we obviously respect the personal nature of medical information and the desire of the manager not to give too much away before a game, I think a lot of the speculative nonsense posted here and on other social media could be prevented by a simple statement. We don’t want or need to know intricate details of every injury or even estimates of how long the player might be out, unless it is evident that it is a long term matter. Just a quick X has an ankle injury and is working to get back to fitness, or Y took a knock in training midweek and was not available for selection today. If a player has been featuring regularly then suddenly disappears without any explanation, this is what fuels the “obviously fallen out with the manager” type speculation. That might be what happened but more often it is because of an injury.

The only way you can really find out about injuries is if you actually ask the player in question, and if you prefer to just go straight home after a match finishes then obviously that's harder to find out
To be honest I don’t think we need to spend volumes of money on improving the team - yes we need strengthening in certain positions but we do have a squad when fully fit to be capable of getting towards the top end of the league
Yes I don't think we'll need to go out and but a whole starting XI's worth of players to start challenging for automatic promotion, but if we were to have the investment needed to significantly upgrade the areas of the pitch where I feel our main weaknesses are (i.e. the midfield) then players like Nadesan and Nichols could start scoring loads of goals. I think investment would need to be made in improving the medical/fitness department so players don't keep getting injured and maybe also adding a couple of extra coaches to help Yems out
Don't get excited, it may not have any relevance at all... But back in December, one of my spies sent me this article, I thought that now might be a good time to share it...
The Athletic understands the owners of League One’s Gillingham and League Two sides Crawley Town and Stevenage have also had Rupp-like conversations with the group that they may or may not have to deny at some point soon.

"WAGMI United is a decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO), a group governed by computer coding — usually in the form of crypto tokens. Anyone who holds these tokens can vote on matters related to the DAO. The decisions are carried out by automated contracts."
Anyone care to translate that into understandable English please?

No - but if you had to explain how any currency or shareholding works, it is basically the same... ...the only real difference is one of familiarity...
... in essence... we accept that a token we own, can be traded at an agreed value, in exchange for goods, services & shareholdings, some of which may be in a tangible form.
But what if we turn out to be the next Bury? Bobbed along in League 2 for many years, changed ownership in 2018 and a year later they were dead.
The sad fact historically is that football clubs do attract disproportionately people who are little more than spivs or chancers. 2005 wasn’t all that long ago.
Everyone needs to cool their jets a bit until we find out who the sniffing around people actually are and then we can take a measure of the credibility of who is supporting them locally
You do like telling everyone on here what to do and think. It is all just rumour and speculation at the moment, so it doesn't matter what we say on here, it's all guesswork. Oh, and 2005 was 17 years ago.
So what exactly are you saying different to me? If anything. I’m saying it’s all guesswork and you seem to be saying .. it’s all guesswork
The make-up of this group is vaguely generic, if emphatically modern. There’s a sports gambling analyst, a derivatives trader turned NFT dealer, the president of a US sports team, the chairman of a communications agency and a TikTok sensation who sit alongside some unnamed associates in the NFT and crypto world, a list that is beginning to sound like the most unwatchable version of I’m A Celebrity in history.

I’d just be happy with a squad that we didn’t have to sell the best players to survive. This season would of been so different if we didn’t have to sell Watters
I always find it interesting that when a club sells a player who is far too good for the standard he's forced to play at that it's always the clubs fault, nobody seems to consider that the player has a choice in the matter and, in these days of unenforceable contracts, will be off at the drop of a hat, teams like CTFC have no option, sell and survive or hold on and get a right royal financial screwing

Hmm, I do tend to go for a beer after the game but those of us who go into Redz rarely see the players to ask questions off them.

I popped into Crawley's centre of culture today ( Wetherspoons in the high street ) and I was surpised to see The Glaser family, Mike Ashley, David Gold, David Sullivan, Karen Brady and Daniel Levy all sitting around a table tucking into mixed grills, pints of Stella and a glass of white wine for Karen.
I overheard Mike Ashley use the words , consortium, purchase, and another pint of Stella please.
I overheard the West Ham trio of owners order some "bread for the table" , whilst Levy and the Glasers spoke in more hushed tones.
With the club up for sale, coinicidence?? You tell me
