Rough summary? How about we ask the players offended how they feel, if they wish to comment? Its all about JY well he has shown his true colours (NO pun intended).

Well the main protagonist is no longer with the club so unlikely he will comment further.
I hope Messrs Duncan and Murray have done the bullying or banter course.
Using language deemed racist does not mean you are racist. End of.
You must by JY or on a wind up. Are you related to Thad?
Peespottage, it appears that even the FA & the Independent Panel hold the same view as rougediable...
14. In this case, by comparison, it is worthy of note that the Commission found (rightly, it is submitted) that: “Having heard Mr Yems give evidence, and in the light of the other evidence, we should like to make it clear at the outset that we are confident that Mr Yems as a person is not a racist. Nor did Mr Yems ever intend to make racist remarks. Nevertheless, it is how what he said from time to time would be perceived by those to whom it was addressed which is what matters rather than his subjective intent”. (para. 50) And: “In our view, Mr Yems was not deliberately lying in his evidence about not having said many of the things alleged. Indeed, he may well think that he did not in fact say what is alleged. In our view, he simply gave no thought at all to the effect of what he was saying from time to time. For him, there was nothing unusual or out of the ordinary in his language so as to make it memorable. Nevertheless, for those who were the butt of the comments the position was entirely different...” (para. 53)
And please be careful when posting about myself & rougediable being related... cos in 18 months time we might both suddenly be deeply offended at the implication that "we are all the same"

Cloughie would have been banned for 10 years had he lived in this Modern Age.
I was Reprimanded 2 years ago by my boss for saying 'half caste' at a meeting! I've been on a training course since!
You need a Degree these days to know what to say and what not to say! Its Gone Abit Over-Board!
Yems will be back in 15 months time as a Head Scout Somewhere in the Top 3 Leagues. As a Head Scout you are less likely to offend someone, and as Head Scout he is in the Top 10 Nationwide. I see after 15 years of Management Steve McClaren finally realizes his best job is 'Coach' and NOT Manager - he even stated that on the Radio the Other Day! Stick to what your best at, and so should Yems!
Some pretty damning details there. Not good reading for Yems or any of those defending him.
Do you mean Erdem Konyar....? "devout Muslim" & CEO at the time, who never had any representations from the players at the time. Funny how they all mysteriously got offended as a group, 18 months later.
The commission concluded That JY is not a racist, it is there in black & white (am I still allowed to use that term...?) They also concluded that the "segregation changing rooms" and "not selecting players based on colour charges"... were not credible...! The charges they believed were when the same players who had raised those points... corroborated each other on use of language.
I have said all along that JY was capable of not keeping up with contemporary trends in language. Anyone who knows him will say the same, he is old skool. ANYONE could choose to be offended by him. Again it is funny how they all mysteriously got offended as a group, 18 months later.
Those players said other things too... Did you know Max Watters was only selected because he is white...? ...or that doing the Zorba dance with Nick T after the win against Leeds was insulting his culture...?
This IS a sad tale of prejudice... A prejudice established at the outset by headlines of "serious & credible" allegations of segregated changing room... Lets face it - how he pronounced "Arnold Schwarzenegger "or asked about "jerk chicken" would not have had the same impact...!
The FA enquiry had concluded - there is written report of their findings - that he is NOT A RACIST The allegations of segregated changing rooms & not picking players based on colour were totally dismissed.
However he was found to have used - what their report refers to as - "old-fashioned language"... ....primarily based on testimony from those very same players who had made those other two allegations...(?)
In any other work-place he would have got a wrap over the knuckles & his accusers would have been told to grow a pair...!
He has been stitched-up from the outset.
Best if I not write anymore tonight.
The interesting part of the FA statement for me - "Jon Yems admitted one of the remaining 16 charges and denied 15. An independent Regulatory Commission subsequently found 11 of them to be proven and four unproven during a hearing. The Commission also imposed his sanctions, and its written reasons for these decisions will be published at the earliest opportunity." I will be interested to read its written reasons, when it might be easier to judge whether he has indeed been "stitched up".
Having read the written reasons, I don't believe he has been "stitched up" or that players 1 to 5 should have been told to "grow a pair". Over the years Thad, your views have been well thought out and reasoned, and I've mostly agreed with them. It seems to me that football generally has some rank bad attitudes from those in management towards players. This imho is an example of someone in charge saying mostly what they want without thinking or caring about the impact. JY has stitched himself up.

I not only told him that... I actually told him - to his face - LONG BEFORE it all happened* ...and that he needed to take his comments more seriously as he risked stitching himself up.
He IS the architect of his own downfall - not because he is a malicious racist (he isn't) - but because he is too open & trusting. We both know that JY is indiscreet, unfiltered & unreconstructed, I have never smudged that issue.
My point is that this became a cause celebre because of totally disproportionate & inaccurate headlines... ...based on so-called "serious & credible allegations".
It should have been dealt with in-house... only no-one raised it at that time. The club never had that opportunity, the accusers waited until they were no longer part of his plans. Some even admitted that they only joined in retrospectively to support their colleagues. I cannot speak on their behalf about whether they were seriously offended... ...which is strange, as they felt empowered to make that claim on behalf of others... who weren't...(?)
Put all of that together alongside sensational press leaks & it is IMHO a contrived stitch-up...!
*Somewhere on this forum you can see for yourself, that I actually chastised him a few times over his post-match comments At one point I even posted that "he needs to grow-up".
