I agree, it was pretty much inevitable that JY would leave - who would want to stay if innocent, given the alleged allegations. He couldn’t just carry on with the possibility of some of his players speaking out against him as if nothing had happened. Similarly, if any of the alleged allegations are true, the club would have no option.
No doubt the FA investigation will continue and at some point in the future, it will come to a conclusion. Hopefully it won’t drag out for months with a dribble of leaks keeping the press wetting themselves.
A sad situation all-round. I wasn’t convinced when JY was appointed, but have to say I enjoyed his style of play. Yes, we lost some games that we shouldn’t have lost, but I’d much rather that than some of the negative play under a couple of previous managers.
Massively relieved that Yems has left now, especially considering the horrific nature of the allegations reported and what that was doing to the club. Sadly I don't feel this will be the end in regards to the story of what might have happened here, but his departure is the first step needed in order for the club to rebuild from the darkest period in it's Football League history (if not ever potentially) and fulfill the ambitions these new owners have. Obviously John Yems has not been officially charged with anything from what I am aware of at the moment but with the way the statement was written it didn't give the normal thanks for their service and wishes for their future that mostly happens when a club parts company with their manager.
As the previous post stated, I just hope this allows the club to fully focus on preparing for next season now and that any more issues that come up regarding this case could now be dealt with by external parties

Glad your not a judge Steve as you seem to assume guilt

Obviously we don't know exactly what happened yet and we'd have to wait until the club, PFA and FA release the findings of their respective investigations. But with all the events of the last few days, it's certainly best that they part ways for the sake of helping the club move forward and preparing properly for the following season without this hanging over their heads. It means Preston and co. can now start to focus a lot more on implementing the ideas they discussed on Wednesday, picking the most suitable person to come in as manager and sort out transfer budgets etc.

We’ve had worse periods than this. And surely this is only such a bad period in our history if John is found guilty…isn’t it?🤷♂️

Yes true, but it has brought very negative publicity at the club and could really damage it's reputation, and I admit I don't personally remember the Majeed era very well because I wasn't watching football regularly back then.

Makes sense if guilty but harsh if not
I know it might sound harsh, but club finished it's investigation regarding his employment (source is Sky News), and obviously this appears to be the result from it
I've got to say I'm shocked. I didn't expect the new owners to move this quickly, not sure if this means their own internal investigation is now concluded. Feel like we still haven't got any answers let alone any closure on this. Quite frankly this all feels totally surreal to me and I'm left confused and shocked by how quickly things have moved with the allegations yesterday and now this news today. Where this leaves us for next season I have no idea at the moment and I'm left wanting answers. This is all very disturbing and I hope we will eventually get closure on this sorry saga.

Thread title is not right - he was not dismissed - he left by "mutual consent". There is a significant legal difference between the two.
(INSERT NEW MANAGER'S NAME) RED ARMY!
I wonder why Yems didn't wanna stay and fight to clear his name? (of course there is argument shouldn't need to as he is in fact innocent as nothing has been proven as i understand it) What's doesn't change is the investigations (all three) continue and if these outrageous allegations are proven then he is a finished man in football. No one will touch him. If they did they will be taken down too. You be nuts to employ him.

It isn't just about him - the allegations alone are enough to cope with - but from the stage where the media are doorstepping you, it becomes about your family and those close to you as well.
We could not imagine the pressure, none of those caring media people seem to have remembered the fate of one of his recent predecessors. But of course he is not worthy of our sympathy, just look at the... erm... facts...!
Academic now but semantics should matter more, even with good intention, "innocent" cannot be used in relation to allegations, only formal charges. We cannot tut-tut about poor victims suffering trauma from inappropriate & offensive language, but not care about our own standards.
Without Prejudice: John Yems: bully, capable of saying & doing the wrong things, racist, idiot...?
Is he a bully: I have always told him things he does not like to his face... and neither of us have a problem with it. In fact, I found his approach to young players to be almost paternal, he is more likely to give senior players the rough end of his vocabulary.
I have known him for crca 16 years, we started as enemies. But I liked that he faced & made his case to me man to man. I did not find him bullying or intimidating, in fact he displayed a decent sense of humour.
A grudging respect grew and we became mates, he even enabled a couple of introductions to people in football circles for me, which were very useful at the time. He earned my respect & loyalty.
However, I am not a kid starting out in football & he is not my boss, which I accept can alter both perception & dynamic.
Is he capable of saying & doing the wrong thing: Yes he is and would likely admit it. I doubt he has always kept up with changes in attitudes or sensitivities. And his use of language & approach reflects a dressing room culture that is becoming less prevalent - but still not uncommon - across the game.
More than anything he says things that he thinks are funny - Dad & Uncle type comments - some will laugh, some will cringe, others could be offended if they chose to be.
I would find the "segregation" comments particularly laughable if they were not so serious. Football is a big village, how could that possibly happen, there are enough big characters at the club that would not allow it.
More likely, personal differences on music, fashion, cars etc can cause peer groups to appear & out of context this could be exploited for malicious purposes.
Fans have not questioned the spirit & togetherness of the squad or heard whispers, on past experience we always got to hear these things fairly pronto.
So do I think he is a racist: NO and my reason is that - subtle subtext alert - I have been mates with him for circa 16 years.
Of course, some people find anyone over 55 to be unconsciously racist, some of them even seem to be looking out for it. Darwin explained how leopards do change their spots, it cannot be rushed.
Is he an idiot: I have told him on regular occasions that he needs to change his act. I believed he was presenting a one-dimensional persona that did not do him justice.
More relevantly, he was underestimating that he was prejudicing certain peoples - in particular the football authorities - opinion of him. No-one would have believed these stories if they were made about Klopp, Guardiola or suchlike. He had left an open goal.
Of course, anyone who ignores my opinions are idiots. He would not have ended up in this position if he had done, but that is another over-simplification.
The reality is that he is actually very intelligent, but not in an academic way. His mind revolves around one thing only, football. He lives for it.
And THAT is his strength & weakness... It is how he gets the bookies favourite for relegation to mid-table, but also how he overlooks things such as my earlier point, that semantics should matter more...!
Guilty or not at this stage the media must be putting Yems and his family in a dangerous position considering the more radical factions we appear to have in society, even if he is found innocent his life is ruined, surely anonymity should be law.

Yes, there are sufficient nutters to cause him and his family a problem. Even if he were fully guilty (and I have major reservations about that), camping outside his home is still out of order.
Apologies to echo the thoughts of others but I just can’t see how you can draw a conclusion prior to to result of the investigation. Even if he is guilty in the end, surely you shouldn’t take action till the moment any guilt is concluded by either the FA or the club investigation. Even if John decided he wanted to go, they should all hang on till it’s finished?
Just all very illogical. Are all football managers one anonymous accusation away from getting fired?
It’s a different situation but Sam Allardyce was cleared of wrong doing as England Manager but was sacked weeks before the conclusion to that investigation. Who would be a football manager??!
