This is the team that just had a friendly against Shrewsbury cancelled because the Shrewsbury fans protested. They were not happy about the Shrews playing a team from a country with a poor human rights records and strict anti-LGBTQ+ laws. Watford called off a friendly with the Qatari national seam for similar reasons.
I wonder if there will be any fallout from this? CTFC haven't been in the headlines for a while.........

Hopefully the CTSA will raise similar concerns too. I personally don't like the idea of us playing a friendly against a team from a country with such an appalling human rights record (with the way women and migrant workers have been treated also being very serious concerns as well as that of LGBTQ+ people)
"We take these allegations seriously and, effective immediately, have suspended him indefinitely as we investigate and consider further punitive action. Let us be clear: Crawley Town Football Club stands behind our players, employees and supporters, and we will never tolerate racism or discrimination of any kind"
Mind you... in fairness to ALL CLUBS, they are being placed in an invidious position... by... erm ...the actual world governing body of Football...!
FIFA come out with a few similar platitudes, yet enjoy & financially exploit a very friendly relationship with Qatar...(?)
Edit: If they can actually resist their natural urge to be Weasels... the club could even turn this story to their advantage.
Interestingly Portsmouth have had a fixture announced against this Qatari team too as part of a Spain camp they are doing next week. After Shrewsbury and us cancelled the fixtures very quickly after being announced, you wonder if clubs will not use the company organising the camps again because of the issues raised in the last few days
