I wonder if the yanks realise it's not like the NFL, we have relegation, and the way Betsy is taking us is down. So, act before it's too late and take the director of football with you because i can't see what he is bring to the party. If they won't sack them i hope, they do the honourable thing and fall on their swords. Steve Evans must be really looking forward to next Saturday to improve his goal difference.
I can see him being sacked either this week or next week after a defeat. 6 points and 1 win in 10 with an improved budget on last seasons mid table finish is simply nowhere near good enough. Thankfully there is about 10 teams in this league that have been awful that are averaging less than a point a game. This is unusual and has masked how bad we are doing so far. Normally 6 points from 10 games would mean we would be bottom of the league. How we aren’t in the relegation zone already is a miracle.
The thing that's concerning is I thought after we beat Stockport we would be turning a corner and go on a decent run, but since then it's pretty much been rubbish, not just in results but the performances. Out of interest for those that did watch, were there any players today you'd say had a good game?
Tilley scored a good goal and always looked to either play forward or get a shot in every time he got the ball, we neeed more of this direct positive play. League Two football is very simple, get the ball forward early, get a few big lumps into the box, win the second balls, compete for every ball and you will win games. We got outjumped in defence and outcompeted in midfield and alongside some bad luck and a dreadful penalty decision this ended up being another bad defeat.
I’ve tried to be patient and give the man time to implement his style on the squad. I’m afraid I can’t sit back any longer, I’ve had enough of feeling like this on a Saturday. You gave it a go but it just hasn’t worked out, whether that be recruitment or whatever, it just hasn’t worked.
Thanks but it’s time to move on, before it’s too late. It’s such a shame because Betsy comes across as a decent chap, but that isn’t enough to win games.
This.
He is a decent guy but 1 win in 10 isn't good enough. 3 shots on target today but that also isn't good enough if you let in 4.
As Dermot and Kewell found out you can't play Barcelona football with Billericay players.
I didn't expect to go up this year but I didn't expect a relegation scrap. So the spotlight is on Wagmi also, too many distractions off the field.
If he doesn't get a win next weekend I think it will be time up.
Watching on iFollow and I thought it was a penalty. No idea why Ransom stuck his hand out but held like that and then the ball hitting it means a penalty. Shit happens. Bloody unlucky and all that but the response after was very poor.
The last ten minutes, we're trying to salvage something and Doncaster have more shots on goal than us in that time.
Betsy needs to make some very hard choices now. With that performance in mind do some of those players deserve to start? If I were the boss some of them would be looking at some reserve team football for a long time.
Jim Baker
You’re a harsh judge Jim. Very much agree with the match commentators and the fans who contacted them that the ball was headed back at point blank range with zero chance to react. You hardly ever see those shouts given, and the tepid appeals by Doncaster revealed everything, they couldn’t believe their luck
Honestly you could criticise the lot of 'em but maybe Chukwuemeka deserves to be left out of it as at least he looked as though he was threatening to shoot and make things happen.
I just think there are some very tough choices to be made with our line up.

That’s certainly how Stevenage will play next Saturday. But who knows we may surprise a few

Yes just as the pen was given I was mid writing a post saying how promising he looked and it’s possible he could develop into our version of Baker-Richardson. We did some ok things in this game up to around 60mins but then fell apart chasing the game. Betsy will have to make this team a bit more resilient but at this stage of our development we are very vulnerable to setbacks
Steve, just thought he stuck his hand out and it hit him. Seen them given and waved away but it was the response that was really poor imho.
Jim
But at point blank range Jim while he was mid jump. Refs usually don’t give those in my decades of watching the game. It’s really an accepted thing that teams have to work hard for penalties, it was a gift from the ref, an old fashioned homer
I think we've spent our playing budget very badly this season. Of the 10-15 players we've signed you couldonly say 2-3 of them have experience of league football- Telford, Conroy and Johnson and of those 3 Telford has been injured half the time and ineffective, Conroy has been injured most of the season and Johnson has been poor. Okay, you need to take a gamble on some youth players and non league players with potential as even experienced players aren't guaranteed to be a sucess, but we've relied to heavily on players who haven't got league experience and Kev has tied himself in knots with us adding so many players to the squad he still hasn't got a clue on who his best team is and his tippy tappy passing style seems to have gone out of the window, but now we don't seem to have any playing style. I really thought after the Stockport win that could be a turning point, but it's just been more of the same.

I think (and have said this before) Dermot would have done better if he had a more talented group of players to choose from at the time, and thought he was harshly sacked. But you're very right about this start not being good enough, and the lack of shots is not just this game but has been a common trend throughout the season. We seem to spend more time trying to score the best team goal of the week everytime we get the ball forward when it's obvious that a more direct approach is the best way to defeat most of the teams in this league

Chukwuemeka (unless injured maybe?) deserved to say on ahead of Nichols.
