Jack Powell,Harry Ransan,Oteh and Corey for me were the standout players in the end of season great escape.
That's not a bad spine of the team. Personally I think we could do with a midfield battler to control things in the centre of the park. We are all too often overrun in midfield.
Ransom IMO is our best CB. Partner him with Craig (if he's still here) Lynch (if he's fit) or Conroy (if he's fit). And with Ludwig gone hopefully we can get Tobi Omole fit as another CB option. He looked good before he got crocked.
If Oteh stays, he needs to play up front with Telford. Nadesan and Tilley out wide or options off the bench. I imagine SL will want to sign another striker (hopefully one with goals in him) if Kwesi doesn't stay, cover at full back, a couple of experienced midfielders now that Mutch and Grant have moved on, and we will need a new goalie to provide competition/cover for Addai.
I can see the likes of Roles, Mason, Davis and Kastrati being sold/paid off, as I don't think they will feature much. Not quite at the level we need.
All makes sense Northgate but do feel even if Kwesi stays we do need a big fella up front so that we can play to Dom's strengths more. I havent seen any pairing this season thats worked unless we expect Adai to become a regular assist merchant for him! There seem to be a few that fit the bill around but we may not have much money to play with which may hamper us.
You should add Corey Addai to the improved list (prepares to be shot down in flames....)
No shooting from me - he is a competent L2 standard keeper.
He has definitely improved over the season but doesn't yet warrant a number 1 slot due to his lack of ownership of the box, an inability to deal with free kicks and some often wayward kicking, He is however a very good shot stopper and will continue to improve and I would happily keep him ay the club. Its a shame Glen isn't here is in goalkeeping coach role as he would have been a real role model for all of those gaps.

The Nichols/Nadesan partnership worked just fine. Then Betsy/Wagmi turned up .....

Totally agree. The way to go would have been Morris as first choice keeper, with Addai as back-up and learning from one of the best keepers in L2. Betsy thought different and brought in Balcombe. As he got injured on his debut we won't know how that would have worked out, Balcombe did ok when he eventually got fit, but he wasn't an upgrade on Morris.
Addai can be better obviously, but he's shown a big improvement on his form in the first half of the season. A great shot stopper, yes some wayward kicking, but the same was true of Morris last season. He has got better with free kicks, and that can be worked on. Also, he's tall so will learn to command the penalty area better. Jury's out whether SL will stick with Addai, or bring in a new first keeper.
All keepers we know get better with age and experience- Addai is still only 24 and this was his first season in the EFL - l personally don’t have any problems with him being first choice next season- but we and experienced back up - to help him progress- he has the attributes to be a brilliant keeper higher up the leagues if he wants to but that’s down to him. He’s in a much better position than the premier clubs under 21/23’s etc keepers as he is already playing first team football. He will have learnt a lot from this season and from the mistakes made.

To use the words of one of my favourite posters on here "oh do give it a rest"

Very valid Alan and I don't disagree he has the makings of a top class keeper and game time will help him achieve that. Just wonder if we have the luxury of providing that especially as we don't have the strongest team in front of him. Glen regularly saved our bacon in many games and somehow we would then sneak an unlikely win but at this stage young Corrie doesn't yet provide that same foundation and a stop gap first choice maybe wouldnt be a bad thing.
The Trouble is when you look through that list of 24 Potential Players Retained this is what I see (and i'm sure if most of you are being honest you will see similar numbers as mine below) :-
4 Players who have Improved their Form/Ability - Ransom, Tsaroulla, Khaleel, Oteh. 3 Players who have Stayed in the Same Form/Ability - Tilley, Gladwin, Gordon. 17 Players whose Form/Ability has Got Slowly Worse - (OTHER 17 ON LIST - Due to Age, Injuries, Management, Lack of Action or Just Gone Downhill).
We Need at least 4 GREAT Signings or we are in Trouble Again.
You should add Corey Addai to the improved list (prepares to be shot down in flames....)
IMO Corey is nowhere near the level of any no.1 keeper we have had over the last 10 years
Shearer Jensen Morris Kuipers Jones
All far superior im afraid to say Corey is a decent backup but not a 1st 11 L2 keeper

No he's not as good as any of those, but they were established goalies with a lot of experience when they joined us - Corey wasn't. He will get better every season, and will be a top class keeper sooner rather than later IMO. Getting an experienced goalie in as competition won't do him any harm. Let's see what SL does.

He gets plenty of practice with a defence like ours.

So Addai is suddenly a good keeper eh? after all them early season & mid season calamity james performances. My [***} some people are Fickle and Change their Minds like the Wind. And Powell has Improved? Oh my [***} - just cus he got 'Player of the Season' - incidentally - What a Joke that was!
Look Guys only Ransom has improved dramatically - NOBODY ELSE - END OF STORY - stop clutching at straws - unless 4 great players are signed we are b#ggered!
