No, seen it on crawleytownvids on Twitter, and it looked like the keeper was expecting something high as he started to take off, so Orsi went low and not entirely in the corner.
I wasn't at the game but surely this was game of the season? It shows great character to keep going and turn it around. Superb result for everyone connected with the club and delighted for the fans that made the very long journey up North!
I’m glad they mentioned the pitch on their forum. For a club of their size at this level it’s worse than Tinpot and that’s saying something. The kind of surface you’d find at Southgate playing fields after a rugby match. Unacceptable at professional level imo.
Sir Titus Salt, 1st Baronet ( 1803-1876) , David Hockney , Jonny Bairstow , Kiki Dee , The Bronte Sisters .........Your boys took one helluva beating ...
That Bradford City forum tells me that it's much harder to accept mediocre form and results when you're more used to moderate success. I recall they were in the top flight, but it was maybe 20+ years ago.
Yes, just checked. Looks like it was the late 90s they were in the Premier League, but fell foul due to financial administration, so they probably overspent to get there and sustain it. They were in the top flight early in their existence too, for a while.
I'm not sure if I recall correctly but I think there was a picture of Neville Southall in goal for them as emergency cover when he was about 50. He looked very overweight and the newspaper was banging on about who ate all the pies. Memory may be unreliable on this though.
They were in the Premier League for 2 seasons, stayed up on the final day in 2000, and were relegated the following season. They did have some big names playing for them - Carbone, Collymore and Petrescu I recall. Sometime later they were indeed in financial trouble.
Just read that Bradford City offered £50k for Orsi in June 2021. Maidenhead turned it down, and Harrogate came in with an increased offer 2 weeks later and landed him. What if, What if, What if.
