As Thad said, no surprise as Cioffe didn't seem to want him...maybe a row behind the scenes that we don't know about...maybe just didn't think he was good enough.
Pleased this has been sorted out and i wish Mark the best at his future club. It never worked out for him at Crawley despite glimpses of his talent.
He was a luxury player that could be brought on when winning 3-0.
Seemed to be a “Big time Charlie” and gave the impression that as he was on Arsenal’s books, merely had to turn up, stroll around the pitch and collect his wages.
I’m sure in a few years time when he’s about 34, playing Non League and having another job to subsidise his lifestyle, he’ll say to himself “why didn’t I apply myself that much further?”
shame really but there is clearly an issue with the simple number of midfield bodies we have, Payne, Smith, Bulman, Morais, all play centrally. Carrying the likes of Vincelot and Mark was never sustainable.
I always thought he was decent.Calm and composed on the ball. At one stage last season it looked like a choice between him and Josh to stay - Gaby clearly prefers Josh.
In some ways it's a shame. He clearly has ability, but too often either didn't apply it or he just went missing.
Unfortunately in this league you need a mix of graft as well as ability, and there were too many games last season where it was like playing with 10 men.
The squad needs careful reflection at the end of the season so we have players that we want/need and we haven't got to be paying people off during the season.

Agree -with limited budget we have to stop being forced into paying off players. Mind you with managers changing every season that doesn't help
Every penny we spend needs to have a value attached to it - I sometimes feel it isn't
Good luck to him...he clearly has issues off the pitch. Maybe if he gets back to just playing football for the love of it he can get his former back. ..hope he gets the help he seems to need.

Sadly though Randall hasn't ever really done much in his entire career, assuming wiki stats are correct he's played a total of 195 league and cup matches in a 13 season career, quite frankly that's poor to say the very least and 'contract terminated by mutual consent' is the only consistent thing about him, the teachers report comment 'could do better if he tried' springs immediately to mind, I guess someone may pick him up as an out of contract player for the remainder of this season but he seems to be a player that's wasted every opportunity that he's been given
There is a lot of talk about English players not getting first team opportunities at top clubs and ending up lower down the league. Maybe the psychological impact on those youngsters is not fully appreciated...(?)
It cannot be easy for the likes of Randall to have to live with the knowledge of Wenger once predicting a great future for him, when he was a youth player - and in this age of online media he cannot escape it - surely at the very least, it becomes a bit of a millstone around your neck.

I couldn’t agree more. It’s very sad. The guy clearly has talent for Wenger to have spoken in those terms about him.
There is clearly more than meets the eye to this, but this is the wrong place to speculate on that.
I just hope he finds a club and can find his form. Talent wise (and I mean raw talent) he was way too good for Crawley Town and League Two, and that is why he struggles so badly. He’d be best going abroad again into a slower league where there is more emphasis on the ball than the blood and thunder we see at our level. Saying he will do better at Conference level or lower is completely wrong. Surround good players with better players and the game becomes easier. Players moving more, making better runs into the right areas is what ball playing midfielders like Randall thrive on.

If you say he has talent then who am I to disagree with you, the facts are though that he spent two years at MK Dons and managed 13 L1 and 4 cup matches and wasn't selected at all for their 2015/16 Championship season when he was mutually terminated, it all sounds to me as though Wenger was having an off day as many managers do when they are talking about the future successes of young talent
