We now know the fixtures and dates for next seasons travel around the country - we have passed them on to Premier to confirm prices and book the coaches. We should get the full details of the coach costs back for next week so we will then publish the details for the coaches to Cheltenham, Bristol Rovers (Cup Match) and to Port Vale.
Our opening away game at Cheltenham is the same as our first away game last season - remember the horrendous trip we had on the M25 and then diversions around Oxford arriving at the Inn for all Seasons an hour late. Hopefully this time we will have a better trip - we will depart Crawley at 9.30am from the Stadium.
We will have the two overnight stops both next year and at the end of the season - Morecambe 30th March and Carlisle United, our last away game of the season on the 27th April. We have e-mailed the hotel to book these two dates. We have also started to E mail the pubs to book dates and get their confirmation that we can stop.
We have two away midweek League matches - Notts County and Mansfield Town - whilst we want to run a coach to every game, we will review numbers on these two and if numbers are low we will run a minibus to the game. We also travel on Boxing Day to Cambridge United and Good Friday to Exeter City.
If you are travelling like us to the away matches - remember that the M23 is now being converted to a "Smart Motorway". The works have already started and is already causing traffic problems between Gatwick and the M25 - the works is scheduled to take about 2 years to complete so its likely that at some time we will have traffic issues when leaving and returning to Crawley - hopefully with our early morning starts this should be OK but we will review after a couple of trips to see if we need to review departure times especially for the midweek games and nearer Saturday matches.
If you want to receive our GH updates and e-mails about away travel then please contact either Alain or Patrick and we will add you to our new data base with your permission.
Our website will also be updated as information is received.
Its been a busy day - my first since retirement. Here's hoping for a successful season
