Seen the same....big fella at over 6'3" looks like a goal every 3 or so games last year. Sounds hopeful, if true....but will need to get used to Lg2 physicality I would think
Thomas Verheydt exchanges MVV for English Crawley Town FC.
The 25-year-old striker signs three seasons at the League Two club where former footballer Harry Kewell (Leeds United, Liverpool and Australia, among others) swept the scepter.
Verheydt had another contract for a year in Maastricht but had his sights set for a departure to England. "That dream has come true for Thomas, who fits perfectly in this league," said Danny Ris, a case-lawyer.
Verheydt played two seasons for MVV. The Hagenaar was transferred from amateur club Scheveningen in the summer of 2015. Within the foreseeable future, "ut bies", as his nickname was, was hugely popular with the supporters.
Last season, he had to take a place behind Patrick N'Koyi, but he still played up on a regular basis. Thus he headed MVV at the end of the season to the final of the play-offs with his winning goal against Cambuur.
Verheydt is the third MVV attacker who has become known to leave. Patrick N'Koyi has found shelter in Scotland and wing Pedro Pedro to FC Volendam.

Well he looks a pretty big no nonsense presence, 6 foot 3 and around 15 stone, plays at Dutch 2nd division level. On YouTube he looks like a player who has no worries about taking a shot at goal and enjoys a fight in getting possession, an interesting signing/possible signing
Agreed will need to be up to speed with our Divs physical style of play but hopefully at 6'3" he will be able to adapt quickly. More concerned about how he will cope with Harry sweeping the sceptre - will be a bit of a culture shock for him I'm sure! 😆
Looks like he would be decent cover for Harrold (or maybe the other way round.) However if thats the 3, I would still preferred a Tubbs style poacher to play off them. Then maybe they think they have one hiding in the squad.
Looks pretty decent on YouTube - I am aware that they're hardly going to put clips of shots ending up nearer the corner flag, though! Big physical presence means he should be fine at this level and his goalscoring record isn't horrific either.
Whilst I'd welcome him if it is true, I still think we'll go into this season with a gamble if he's our first choice and would like to see a proven L2 striker joining him here.
I do wonder who's scouting these Dutch players, as I can't imagine Selim's up to scratch with the players coming through in the Eredivisie and below. Enzio turned out alright though, so hopefully the same can be said of Sanoh and Verhydt.
i see him as a long term replacement for MH and will no doubt play every game MH is sidelined through injury - so probably quite a few
personally think he will be a good signing if it is true
not the 3 exciting players we were promised but all good solid players which will improve us we just need to clear some midfielders out now to free up space and money for another 15-20 goal forward and another full back
