Looks to be a beast of a man, should give defenders a hard time. Looking at the you tube clips he does seem to have a knack of being in the right place at the right time, and we know from others like Ellison and Parkin et al that you don't have to be the quickest to score goals in this league. Hope we get him signed up.
I do wonder who's scouting these Dutch players, as I can't imagine Selim's up to scratch with the players coming through in the Eredivisie and below. Enzio turned out alright though, so hopefully the same can be said of Sanoh and Verhydt.
The days of the wizened old scout freezing on the touchline with a notepad & pencil are gone. Nowadays Agents beat a path to you with a showreel.
People talk about signing a proven L2 striker, but how many are out there that we are likely to attract..? Luton just signed a good un but it cost them.
The Eredivisie represents good value, you know that players have had a good grounding and look at the EFL as a step up. It is a qualified gamble but so is signing any player.
I'm old enough to recall the shock when Bobby Robson supplemented his homegrown Ipswich team with Muhren & Thyssen, it was an eye-opener at the time but turned out well for all parties. It is now seen as a really progressive stage in the development of the domestic game. Of course, that Ipswich team are most fondly remembered for a win over the Germans despite having Sylvester Stallone in goal.
Looks like a good find if we can get him on the cheap.
I'm a bit concerned we are putting all eggs in one basket gambling on these lower league Dutch players. Then again if we're being realistic (not one of Crawley fans' strong points) the only way we might have a realistic chance of getting out of this league on a relatively small budget is to gamble on these sorts of signings.
As someone points out, we're not going to have the money to sign proven League 2 scorers when Collins is going for 250k, so we have to go for either journey-men, non- league youngsters or low profile players from foreign leagues. Seems we are combining all three with our signings so far. Time will tell how successful it is. I have a feeling it will be either be an embarrassing flop or a storming success.

up as champions or down before Easter?
Probably neither. Other clubs have a similar predicament to us. I anticipate a lower-half finish with a possibilty of relegation until late on. Hopefully, that won't come to pass.
Looks like he would be decent cover for Harrold (or maybe the other way round.) However if thats the 3, I would still preferred a Tubbs style poacher to play off them. Then maybe they think they have one hiding in the squad.
Danny Bulman?
We have enough midfielders who could run through onto held up balls.

they all need to get more involved than last season. Main concerns:
Awl...where the f... were they half the time Too slow got caught by opponents breaking constantly Didnt contribute to goal scoring enough Didnt tackle enough Didnt close down virtually constant Failed to plug huge gaps in defence Didnt gel together very well at all. None looked played anything like Dannie Bullman. Apart from that they were ok

I doubt if Danny will get forward much, he will spend most of the time protecting a flaky defence.
Although saying that, we have signed a decent new defender and he could make all the difference and allow the midfield to get forward. I always think the defence is like a pack of cards, (pull one away, out of position and it falls apart.)

Well Red, Red & Red you've solved one problem... we now know the identity of the mysterious irritating drone in the Gatwick area
From looking at clips of him I'm not sure I agree that he'll be 'back-up' to Harrold. I think it'll be the other way round. I doubt he'd bother coming to England to sit on the bench somewhere, and I doubt we'd give him a 3-year deal unless we were sure he'd be the absolute business. Obviously YouTube can make players look better than they are but he looks a good bet for League Two level. Flashes of nice touches and deft finishes for a big fella, but importantly can definitely handle himself physically. Can see him being useful for the likes of Enzio, Cox, Sanoh and Roberts to play off. Will all depend on how Kewell chooses to set up the team.
A risk but it's what I like to see. Much rather this than signing some randomer who failed to impress at Stevenage or Woking.

Does anyone think a fans' forum should be in place at some point within the next month or so?
We still have no idea what HK's preferences with formations, tactics, and it would also be nice to hear from Selim in the flesh rather than via tweets and stories on the OS.
