3 points today - as per my "shit prediction". I think we're safe now. JTG?

its riddiculous any thought of relegation has been and continues to be. Any thoughts of the drop i doubt the persons thinking such were there today to witness a side far from relegation material.

Could relegation talk have been because the team HAVE NOT been playing like today?
Do you think anyone WANTS the team to be relegated?
Perform like today and of course relegation talk has no basis
All getting rather exciting at the bottom with Notts County winning and Yeovil losing last night! 4 of the bottom 6 play each other this Saturday (Notts County v Morecombe and Yeovil v Macclesfield)

I think we can be pretty sure that the Notts County fans were the other end of the ground i.e not able to get an audible shout of 'he's behind you' to the keeper.
A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball (except from a deliberate save by any opponent) is not considered to have gained an advantage.
Forgive my lack of knowledge here, but how was he not offside?
As a minimum, because he did not receive the ball from a member of his own team. Also because the pass was not played forwards (in the direction of the attacking team).
And I know the supporters of the defending team were at the other end of the ground, but I'm assuming he had a few team mates who could have alerted him...!

This should do it!
Ah, I see, thank you. That does indeed explain it, although how scoring a goal can be classed as not having gained an advantage, I'm at a loss.
And there was me thinking the offside rule was introduced to prevent goal-hanging............
You are only offside if your own player passes you the ball. You are only offside if the ball is played forwards (not sideways or backwards). You are not offside if the ball is being returned into play (goalkicks, throw ins and corners, note you are off from keepers kicks from the hand,). You are not offside if a dumb keeper drops the ball on the floor to kick it and you are standing there.

Thanks to those more knowledgeable, not difficult, for their explanations, if I'd been the ref I'd have sent the Carlisle player off for ungentlemanly conduct and being a Mancunian
