I hope the club go back to doing their own food and price it competitively that way i will be more inclined to spend my hard earned rather than either go elsewhere or eat at home
The problem the club have always had with this approach is that by definition you'll always have on average 2 weeks between home games. This means that you have to either order very precisely and leave no waste (notoriously difficult to do, you'll usually end up running out and pissing people off) or you have to buy in cheap crap like we have done in the past so that it can be easily frozen while we wait for the next home game. (stale burger buns anyone...!)
The reality is that you will end up throwing stuff away and that eats in to the profits. The only way to counter that is to put the prices up...!
The reason the catering is outsourced at present is to guarantee a revenue for the club without exposing them to the challenges of stock management. The people that supply the catering cater for multiple events, so if they don't sell what they have with us on a Saturday, they can always offload it at whatever event they're doing on Sunday.
I think the club are well within their rights to mandate some of the prices. There would surely be other catering providers that would be quite happy to do the job with a slightly lower margin if the incumbents weren't too keen.
Or the club could always reduce their fee, but then I'm not sure that I think they have to.
Can we not buy a kfc franchise and turn the 5 a side court into a drive thru. It would make more money over the year then match days do. Cost a few quid to get franchise mind.
I fully understand and appreciate the club's current approach however the prices are out of control and the club need to work with the vendor to make sure fans are not out priced or angered by the sky high prices.
A competitive pricing structure would surely benefit both parties?
Not sure why people can't survive for a whole afternoon without food.
I couldn’t agree more,I personally don’t touch the overpriced junk food.....but jnr loves to tuck in. Mind,he still has little to no consept as to the cost/value that is on offer.

This is one of the most crazy and best idea's I've heard on this forum, although I've had far too much KFC over the last few years!

Actually there was a plan a few years back for a drive-thru McD - at other end - as part of consortium takeover, it hinged on council transferring stadium ownership. They expressed reluctance to do that without owners having local connection.

Interesting... the more I think about it would actually be a great location for a drive thru, could work really well in bringing in a few extra supporters to the club and generate some revenue for the club.

McDonald's has the higher turnover out the two.Its quite mad just how much a McDonald's franchise can make. Think you would need a few million up front to get a kfc franchise started. But if you have long term ambitions for the club then finding revenue streams outside match days could make all the difference in success or failure.

Don't want to say too much, but interested party already had a few local McD franchises, which gave the concept a lot of credibility. There is actually a decent customer potential from users of the 4G pitches.
