Could understand any angst if we were talking about losing Morais but it’s Vincelot, a player who was underwhelming right from the get-go when a mistake he made could have cost us that opening day win...
Just checking Steve, you would be fine with the talented mister Morais starting the next dozen games at Centre-back...?
And there was me thinking we just signed one of those

We signed one previously - Bonzo - but still asked a proven midfielder to play there, despite being "underwhelming"... so seems only sensible to give a midfielder that you clearly rate more highly, a run out in the role now...
...of course it does risk the player feeling confused & marginalised by the concept... particularly if the midfield needs a bit of experienced help... but hey-ho, just move him on if he is unhappy...!
Yep looks like you missed the fact we have re-signed Dallison, we’ve now got 4 specialist centre backs plus others who can play as part of a back 3 (see the 3 clean sheets recently). That should be enough to give us League 2 football again this season, albeit we may need better ones to progress next season

GC is quoted this morning as saying
"Romain is a great professional and he is a good man but he wasn't in my plans. All because you don't fit a methodology or ideas of a particular manager doesn't mean you're not a good player, that's life"
I feel that, weighing up our results and league position, my personal comment on this statement has to be "no comment"

What he said. Vincelot has been royally screwed over by CTFC. But I guess we don't need experienced L1 level players when we are having such a fantastic season...........oh.

I'm afraid it raises more serious questions about the (in)competence of the people running Crawley Town.
You don't sign experienced players like this on good salaries, only to find that 5 months into a 2 year deal they are surplus to requirements and need to be paid off in order to join a club in a ....er....higher division.
Also as far as not fitting the manager's plans, well if Cioffi had a plan or was able to string some results together then the stench of bullshit might not be as strong.
Romain must be shitting himself with laughter with a pay off and an 18 month deal at Shrewsbury.
I haven't seen anything as silly as this since we signed Emile Sinclair and realised about a month later we had dropped £100,000 on a Rymans quality player. Or the farce with Dean Cox.
Come to think of it it is becoming an unfortunate habit. But remember, Eren said his people were football people, right?

Actually Steve, the point being missed is that i was taking the piss, why would we ever want a decent midfielder like Morais at centre-back... it is a total waste...
...but seeing as you - IMHO unfairly - compared him with the "underwhelming" Vincelot, i suggested an opportunity to finally determine which is the best square peg, with a clearly daft question... that you bottled answering... I know we have centre-backs, we even had Joe Mac sitting on his arse when RV was matching up against monster centre forwards..!

certain players WERE in our plans but when we are safe from relegation the need for high paid players goes and so do they. Simples. Its called life at Crawley Town FC.

Vincelot was not paid off his contract was cancelled by mutual consent

Is it possible that Vincelot signed on the strength of Kewell's then football reputation but when he left and was replaced by Mr Coifee and realised the clubs ambitions were a lot of hot air he threw a wobbly and eventually got his dream ticket out.

I don't know about the second bit but I have certainly heard that he came here because of HK and was unhappy when he left, although that was hardly the club's fault. I can see why HK would have wanted him in the back line as he seemed comfortable on the ball and would have suited the style of play that HK wanted. It's bizarre that we never tried him as a defensive midfielder especially when the need for one has been very apparent but maybe things went on that we don't know about and the only solution was for him to leave.

whats all this falling out with Randall where is the evidence? Maybe he just isnt good enough in the manager's view to play and I cant say id disagree there!
