But isn’t that a good thing given our 10 point lead over the bottom 2?
Ten points is not a lot to make up on a team with no PMA or winning mentality is it?

Maybe it is JTG. When I started the relegation thread we had 17 games left, as did NC and Macclesfield. Yeovil had 19 left. Respectively we were 12, 6 and 3 points ahead of them. It's now 10, 10 and 7. We've got 8 games left. Those 3 have 8, 9 and 8.
Everyone needs to take a deep breath, take a step back and calm down.
One freak result and we see hysterical reactions. It doesn't mean we have become a bad team overnight, it's football, it happens, we move on and go again next week.
It's also time to lay off Stephen. Yet again, veiled insults, mocking comments and references to the fans' forum. It's time to move on, surely.
There's nothing wrong with staying positive, we could do with a bit more of it on here.

So who was it that said "Looking forward to all the lovely positive keyboard warriors discuss their thoughts at the Fans forum next month. Or will you all be busy" and "I will be there...come and introduce your self".
Yet on the day the same individual sat in the back row, said nothing and was first out the door at the end. What a missed opportunity to show some support for GC and point out what a great job he is doing.
Of course after the event our hero was back behind the keyboard...apparently "Far too many people asking nit picking questions" and suggesting we were in our "cold dark shells".
Why not just grow some and join in the debate when the opportunity is there.
That's fine Simon and nobody objects to a bit of point scoring and goading but the fans' forum was five weeks ago and you still keep bringing it up. It doesn't really matter what he said in advance of the meeting, he is allowed to change his mind and I completely agree that people should join the debate (any debate) to the limit of their ability. Your point, as always, has been very well made but when do you think it is time to move on?

Move on and go again?
In case you haven’t noticed, we’re running out of games.

You seem surprised John - sorry, I may not have expressed it very clearly. I mean move on from this one game and go again against Lincoln. The comment was not related to the number of games played or left.
The Meite sending off was him reacting to a punch(?) from a defender in their wall while we were waiting to take a free kick. The ref only saw the retaliation but I've seen much worse.
I am not sure how the system for retrospective review & appeal works.
From the images broadcast it is not clear if there was a punch or prod involved, but it can be seen that the defender left the wall to deliberately provoke Meite & then he hit the deck like a sack of cement when Meite abruptly swung around (presumably with a leading elbow).
Funny how a bloke can be a right hard-case giving it loads one moment & then instantly turn into an ickle baby a second later... dirty, cheating git...!
I'm not surprised with the sending off I'm afraid. When he came on against Grimsby we had a free kick and he ran straight in to the front of the wall and have one of the defenders a dig. My mate and I laughed about it at the time and commented that it was nice to see someone with a bit of a devilish streak (as it did seem to rattle their left back for the next 5 minutes) but we were both surprised that none of the officials saw it as it was pretty blatant.
The thing that these players need to understand though is that these games are recorded and doubtless reviewed by referees in the same way that they are by players, to learn from and enhance their decision making ability. That particular nudge would have been easily picked up by the cameras as they were directly above me and it wouldn't come as a shock if the referee was looking out for the same thing again.

Hopefully then Craig Hicks has reviewed and analysed his performance as ref of the Northampton game ahead of him coming back here on Saturday! I can see carnage in this game if they are similar to their "style" of last season?
I hate this approach - Evans used to do it all the time - deflecting from the failings of the players & the coaching staff by blaming the officials.
It is grandstanding & engenders a victim attitude that stops the right people from having to take responsibility. Very unhealthy and generates a negative mental approach.
I am not saying officials do not make mistakes that impact outcomes, but so do players... it is an endemic part of the game & a test of their professionalism.
Weak people sulk & let it upset them, strong people put it behind them & maintain their focus. If you want to look for excuses you can always find one, funny how there is never an inquest if we get a streaky win through a lucky penalty...!
IMHO Selim has made himself look a complete t1t. PATHETIC. They ALL need to man up & grow a pair.

I agree not Selim's finest hour but guess he is trying to deflect pressure away from the players...when we win on Saturday it will all be forgotten...
There are times when it is sensible to take pressure away from players... A 6-1 defeat is not one of them... the sheer scale of the humiliation means that there is nowhere to hide...
...and even attempting it, makes Selim appear to be a total wimp who is scared to face up to the players. Does he really not feel that they have badly let him down...?
He needs to be apologising to fans, kicking the pampered arses of the players & questioning their attitude. At the moment he appears like a eunuch...!
