Rene Gilmartin appointed assistant manager at Swindon.

....and he has now left Swindon.
Seems that new owners want their own people in so he and manager John McGeal have had their contracts terminated. I would presume they have been paid a fair bit in compensation.

Not much of a catch then. Rather like his goalkeeping.

The owner at Swindon has been told he must sell to a certain party for a certain price because he agreed to that price with someone else...and it's all a bit of a mess.
Suffice to say I heard he and McGeal had gone and was told it was because the new owners wanted their own man in. Got a bit lazy and only checked Gilmartin and McGeal had left and didn't read beyond that.

The first bit is true, the proposed sale to Clem Morfuni is going through the High Court and a possible appeal.
Of course there are also the claims of Michael Standing (ex Albion) who alleges he was verbally promised 50% of the club and Gareth Barry who claims Standing was holding the shares for him.
Probably the only sure thing is Swindon will be charging League 2 away fans Championship prices next season and the place will be the same dump as when we went there in our Conference times.
Hartlepool look to have lots of players out of contract and there are fears they could lose some of their better ones. I would presume they have offered contracts but still.
