Liverpool deserved a trophy outstanding season just one loss and point tally that wouldve won premier any other season. Rottenham were fair and square beaten by better team.
Truth is that you were never going to top those incredible semi-final 2nd legs for drama, it was always going to struggle as a spectacle.
Possibly the biggest impact made by any individual player this season is between the sticks for Liverpool, what would have been the outcome if Karius had been there instead of Becker...?
How can either be champions of Europe when they haven't been champions of England for almost 30 years between them?
Money making vulgarity
If that is the pinnacle, football is doomed
Almost 90 years between them.
Indeed, without looking it up, I'm guessing Spurs' last title was the double season of '61 and Liverpool's was mid/late 80s. If my memory hasn't let me down, that would be your 90ish years.
Hooray. Never again will I have to try and justify my watching lower league or non league footy to those lazy plastic/armchair fans of the "big" leagues who condemn the standard at our level and below. That was one of the worst and poorest quality matches I have seen at any level for some time. Couldn't even pass 5 yards to a team mate at times. FA Vase final was more exciting and better quality spectacle (and a lot cheaper). Not saying they can achieve that all the time but then again they aren't being given £170m for old rope each season!!
And the strange twist is that Man City are desperate to win the Champions League, whereas Liverpool's - in particular their fanbase's - holy grail is to be domestic Champions... Hey-ho...!
