Well well well...are things changing at Crawley...how are the Cioffi out brigade keeping themselves busy these days...😀😀
It’s 2 games Stephen. Calm down
I have stayed very calm listening to oeople like you jumping to hasty decisions about a young manager who inherited another managers team.
Now is the time to enjoy what this team is going to produce this season. No need to be calm exciting times are ahead. Let your shackles of negativity and gloom go and enjoy the ride. Try it for once even JTG might smile and say something supportive and positive. ..
Good result on a number of fronts, even against L2 opposition.
1. First serious cup win in ages.
2. Sets up a decent crowd and payday against Norwich.
3. We seem to be scoring goals - first game 1, second game 2, third game 3....Saturday should be interesting.
Maybe now GC has his own players (as opposed to Kewell's or Selim's) we really will take some steps forward.
Had to read this 15 times to see if it was real....not one moan. ..you have been reading that book I suggested years ago....keep it up and enjoy the ride you never thought possible and even derided those that thought would. ..

I call it as I see it Stephen.
Fact is last season we seriously underperformed on a top 10 budget, despite some posters on here desperately trying to polish the turd, and had we not got wins at key points it could have been dire.
This season GC has his players and has managed to get the other people (like the DofF and the ex-agent) back in the hutch, two wins from 3, so far so good but its early days. There is a message there, let Kelly manage the off field and the Manager the on field.

You are the sort of person who complains if someone gave you a million pounds in used notes complaining the notes were grubby.... If that's calling it as you see it then good luck to you..
Enjoy this season and remember those who you abused continuously for believing in our Italian leader...it's all on here in black and white...
People on here are giving GC all the credit but I wonder how much input his new assistant has because speaking to him after the forum he seemed a lot more enthusiastic than Rooney who we had last year. One think he said was I love and want a cup run so watch this space as they say.

As I said Stephen, call it as you see it.
Yes I am 100% agreeing with you we have made a good start, and very pleasing it is as by all accounts we have played good football. Contrary to what you think I did start watching Crawley in 1989 so I am not exactly a Johnny-cum-lately.
However only you could pretend last season was anything other than under achievement on a top 10 budget. Bit like being given a million pounds in fakes and you would still be on here saying how wonderful it all is.
Not everything in life is rosy, you have to recognise the positives but also the times when things could have been better.
Abusing you? No. But remember it was you who was winding people up to get down to the fans forum and say hello to you. Three of us did, however you came late, sat at the back and headed off faster than Usain Bolt at the end. When calling people out at least have the courage of your convictions, perhaps.
Competition from Newport v West Ham possibly otherwise we could be an 'obvious' live choice for Sky Tv.
Newport v West Ham and Lincoln v Everton are the 2 ties selected by Sky for live coverage. Nevermind, we can dispatch Norwich quietly and welcome the Sky cameras to Broadfield in Round 3 when the cup holders Man City roll into town😁
HKP had nothing to do with this current training set up..
Typical, the only time anyone has ever queried the factual basis of my comments about him, is the one time I'm actually nice about the fella... I reckon there must be a conspiracy in place...(?)
Makes me wonder about the timing of Turkish bid to save Scunthorpe Steel works too...!
I will be more circumspect in future frenchayred, I know you are a stickler for all posts to be accurate.

He seems like the type of coach we want. He’s young and looking to make his mark so will bring more enthusiasm than some old journeyman coach looking for another cushy job.
I really don't want to get involved in the playground bromance between Simon & SRN... but been thinking about reference to our 'top ten budget'... yes, you can point out that performances & our final league standing last season did not reflect it...(?)
However, it is not a level playing field insofar as the cost base varies significantly by geography, the further away from London you get, the more bang you get for your buck.
I would speculate that a comparison with Stevenage is reasonably fair, but from 1st hand experience I know that business, living & wage costs are notably cheaper in Northampton & reduce further as you head northward...
...basically it isn't enough to simply compare the headline figure, but also not sure how we performed on a regionally adjusted basis either...!
