whatever the outcome I hope the club have a range of personnel on board for this pre-cursor to the cup tie, maybe they already do a lot of this but an opportunity to analyse in detail the performances of each player and gather stats that they can then use in the 'replay' is to god an opportunity to miss. The kind of stuff you see in the papers plotting every details of movement on the pitch in the Sunday papers, the ration of successful passes, areas of pitch defended and so on. Lets make sure we use this match as well as win it though im predicting a tight affair and a draw.

In an ideal world we will win Saturday and the cup match in a couple of weeks. If a choice was forced upon us between 3 points on Saturday or another cup glory night at the Broadfield, what would we choose? The chance to play in a cup quarter final does not come around too often. However, if we are serious about staking a play-off spot/promotion then 3 points on Saturday would halt the recent slide. We only have 1 win from our last 9 games in all competitions (if you count Stoke as a draw) and this needs to be rectified ASAP.
I’m expecting our next win to be Colchester, in the cup! If you go by the effort the players are putting in against Stoke and Norwich compared to what we witnessed at Forest Green. I’m not exaggerating when I say forest green won every single second ball, chased every lost cause. Bit like we did in the cup games. FG will go up this season because that’s their effort every week. As a supporter doing long away games that’s what makes the players hero’s, not just upping their game for cup glory. Is normally prefer to win the cup game, but I think I’d just like to see players put in a comparable effort in a league game.

Cup glory !
Agree now that we’ve seen what the teams at the top are like I’d rather cup glory and some nice cash stacks for the club.

You don’t get any money from the league cup until the semi finals stage. We’ve sold tickets cheaply and not been on tv so I doubt we’ve made much money from this cup run if any.

i did not know that, perhaps we might get an overall crowd increase for this season and beyond if we beat Colchester as a consolidation but knowing the majority of people who live in Crawley are season ticket holders at London clubs it’s wishful thinking.

Allbeit lower ticket prices having now 3 home matches in the cup we may not have had (well beyond 1st round anyway) must have increased revenue its hard to imagine we ran these matches at a loss. I don't see how you can 'budget' for this so surely it must be extra revenue. As well as potential new fans and returning fans to other (league)matches, there will have been associated revenue incoming from merchandise, the bar and so on. Its also a long ball game for this cub competing against Brighton and neighbouring London clubs so easy to access that we are building the Crawley Town FC brand. We are giving football fans an alternative experience and I think the club are getting a lot right here. The lower ticket prices was a huge success and I only hope we see another bumper crowd in for Colchester in the cup. I want CTFC to win everything so I wont engage in would I rather cup success than league and so on - why not beat them twice 0 its not impossible and with the right attitude and approach I see no reason why we cant. It wont be easy but its sure not impossible. (I do confess though to predicting a tight game ending in a 1-1- draw, just hope Im wide off the mark and we thrash them!)
