Thought that was a pretty feeble exit from the FAC. 1st half was shocking with us not even looking like having a shot until two of there players miskicked, to present Nadesan with opportunity to set OP for good finish. But surely 2nd rnd FA Cup you come out with some passion, all very tame. Some (Grego Cox was one) couldn't raise a real challenge 2nd half apart from the last few minutes and subs a joke?. Fleetwood were not as good as I thought they might be, apart from play acting so a great chance missed to rescue our season. Problem is there is a huge disconnect between what our manager thinks is a good performance and the views of a large part of those fans who can still be bothered to turn up?
Fleetwood were the better team, but they were not that great, we were very average. First half was scrappy, we scored a great equaliser after going behind with some great link up play between Nadesan and Palmer after a mistake in the Fleetwood defence. Second half we started brightly, but a really scrappy goal from Fleetwood knocked the stuffing out of us and we never looked like getting back into the game and Fleetwood saw the game out pretty easily.
Disappointing loss as I didn't think they were any better than most of the sides we've faced this season, but another narrow defeat at home, pretty standard performance these days.
So much went pear shape particularly when Fleetwood scored an unchallenged winner. Heads dropped. Belief dissapeared. An example in extra time they play it in the corner and we gain possession looking for a break and Reece has virtually sat down at the back of the East Stand he is so far away from his team mate OP in the centre. Serious question do the players not like playing near and off OP? If you dont keep possession from the second ball why bother challenging for the first? Tactically I think Gabby showed his limitations today.
Very harsh comments. We were pretty decent today, mostly matching a team two points off third place in League 1 who picked their first choice team.
We deserved a replay but were denied by an incompetent referee and an incompetent West Stand linesman, the two worst match officials I’ve seen this season.
I don’t know if Cioffi is the right man to take the team forward but using today as a stick to beat him is a bit ridiculous

You honestly thought we were "decent" today and deserved a replay?
We can not keep blaming match officials, (yes they are mostly the best of last season's dross) but you have to compete and get on with the job in hand. There was a chance to progress to the next round and win some more prize money, but, the Italian Clown showed his Incompetence yet again today, trailing and needing a goal, what were his tactics? No Plan B or Plan C, just substitute the players like for like and keep lumping the ball aimlessly high and forward, in the hope one of our players might be lucky enough to get on the end of it.
There was no hunger, desire, urgency or will to win today. Too many Gutless players just happy to turn up and collect their wages.
How anyone can think we played well today is beyond me we were terrible all we seem to do is lump it forward and hope and to top it all the game plan was nonexistant except for the long ball. At half time it was crying out for a shake up but no more of the same old dross for the second half. When we went a goal down (2-1) and needed some inspired substitutions what do we get like for like the guy must have a blind spot if all around me in the west stand can see whats needed. Cioffi just does not have a grasp of what change of tatics means but he will come out with the same old rubbish in his match summery. If he is not given his marching orders after today then when we loose a Stevenage next week it must be a certainty because if we carry on like today then we will be down with the stevenage's etc fighting to miss the one relagation spot.

In hindsight, I don't think we were terrible yesterday, but I also think Fleetwood were far from good themselves. If we'd played at the levels we did earlier in the season, we would have won. They had superior fitness and pace but their actual skill level wasn't all that great, and they relied on a very dodgy goal to beat us.
Having said that, it felt like yet another example of how Cioffi doesn't have much if any of a tactical plan. Of late, every game feels like 11 individuals just being asked to "play football" and then us being reliant on one or more of them doing something brilliant. Even our goal yesterday was entirely reliant on a Fleetwood error and superb finish from Ollie.
It's also getting infuriating how Cioffi seems to have no idea what his preferred system or line-up is. Every week seems to be a different attack, and funnily enough it looks like a load of players who haven't played that way before. Thought Nadesan did well yesterday, while simultaneously seemingly having no idea where he was supposed to be.
The defence continues to be an issue. Every single game there is an embarrassing error out of them that leads to a goal conceded. Even though the second should be a foul on Morris, what on earth was Tunnicliffe doing? Why not just leather it clear?
Interesting to see the players sticking up for Gab though. If I may say so, it'd be nice if they could stick up for him by playing better for him on the pitch, starting at Stevenage.
Seems like I missed a lot, booing players and airing their frustrations at our owner and Selim in a mob after the game. What a mess.
Really?Oh dear, in that case I’m glad I’m at work. Not great though is it, if the fans are getting restless with the board.
We’ve had far worse to vent our anger on, haven’t we.And deciding to turn after losing to higher opposition does seem rather odd. I would have thought a better time would have been after another league defeat......but then, we are an odd bunch here.
Come on now Matt, you know we’re not allowed to make any reference to things being worse in the past🙄😂🤭

I get frustration at constantly blaming match officials and I’m not doing that for Cioffi’s overall record. But for heaven’s sake that was as clear a foul on a keeper as you are ever going to see and 9 out of 10 refs would have given it. I didn’t see Fleetwood cut us apart, in fact we had the clearest chance when Grego-Cox (I think it was) mysteriously headed the ball away from the Fleetwood goal two yards out with the keeper stranded

I’d agree with that. What made it worse is that 9 out of 10 linesman would give a foul too, so for both to miss it makes so frustrating! Although young lost his man for the first, I think he has improved things on that side, however the left is still a massive problem. I’d still like to see Dallison tried there with Joe Mac coming into the middle. Or play a five with Sesay and young wing backs. Seemed to have much better shape with Bulman and Francomb.
Apologies for my late arrival at the post match debate.
In summary: Fleetwood were STRONGER than us, they came to spoil & do enough to get a result, we were unable to stop them (the Ref did not help either).
If that is the sort of stuff a team with Championship aspirations dishes up, then i am happy to stay in L2.
One positive, two up front worked, but i think Pooch would have disrupted them & without that it was too comfortable for them.
Lastly, the only concern i ever want at 2pm on a December Sunday, is whether there is enough gravy to go around...!
