Maybe something is missing in the reporting from the Obby, as it isn't on Eastbourne Town's fixture list and the Sussex FA has 'TBC'.
I don't get the bit about we didn't register academy players?? So we have a load of players that never get match practice, yet when they could play they can't/don't? Plus does it take long to organise registrations for County games?

You would have thought that this would be the ideal event to register a few that are coming through the foundation academy and play though, as no disrespect to the competition but for a team our level we really shouldn't be using too many first team players for this, especially if it causes players to aggravate injuries (like with Tsaroulla in the last game)
A shame but it would be monumental folly to imperil our league status by picking up more injuries in events attended by tiny numbers. You either believe the club when it says it’s in the middle of an injury crisis or you are one of those people who don’t I guess
To be honest if I was the manager I probably would have considered doing the same, as with a busy schedule coming up you don't want to lose any more of your better players to injuries for big league games and this competition is more aimed at the non-league clubs anyway (plus I don't know about the practicalities of registering community academy players temporarily too). I must admit I'd also like to see a club withdraw from the EFL trophy next season too just to make a stand about how rubbish that comp is
I do think Lancing should be allowed to take our spot in the competition though rather than Eastbourne Town given a walkover
This was an easy win we could've put 7 players out and still won the game. No trophy this season again. Terrible decision. AN EMBARRESSMENT and considering the number of players we have farcical. FA should investigate. SHAMBLES
Could have a point - i remember losing by a hatful at Whitehawk a few years ago and Sergio Torres running the show for them !
I was at that game, was n't it something like 6-1 to whitehawk ?
Our keeper was terrible, I think it was his first and last game for us.
One of Dean Saunders' first games. Gregory had left us without any GK cover in the squad and Jensen was injured against MK the previous Saturday. Joe Walsh sent off and we were lucky to lose 6-1.
Re this season, club website lists 38 players and 5 on loan makes 33. And we can't get a team out?
Some further thoughts from me. I'm honestly confused by this.
Firstly if we are so short of players we can barely field a side then we should try to postpone the game. Definitely a secondary competition for us but postpone not quit.
33 players at the club at the moment (thank you Simon) means that we have at least 15 or more injured or otherwise unavailable.
Maybe all those players are not really at the club? If so why on Earth are they named as part of the first team squad?
The injuries have got very silly this season. Is anyone looking into the reasons for this?
