Some further thoughts from me. I'm honestly confused by this.
Firstly if we are so short of players we can barely field a side then we should try to postpone the game. Definitely a secondary competition for us but postpone not quit.
33 players at the club at the moment (thank you Simon) means that we have at least 15 or more injured or otherwise unavailable.
Maybe all those players are not really at the club? If so why on Earth are they named as part of the first team squad?
The injuries have got very silly this season. Is anyone looking into the reasons for this?
This was an easy win we could've put 7 players out and still won the game. No trophy this season again. Terrible decision. AN EMBARRESSMENT and considering the number of players we have farcical. FA should investigate. SHAMBLES
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Not sure what your worst comment is there - choice between FA investigation and winning with 7 players. And that’s without the spelling error.

As I say. I'm confused.

Unfortunately the County FA are not very flexible on timings. Games were to be played by 14th, I know that both Lewes and Worthing had a free Saturday this week but the blazers had to be persuaded before the game could be played on Saturday rather than Tues night.
Perhaps we had just decided to drop out regardless.

To be fair I can picture the Sussex FA being like that Mike Bassett scene where the committee are deciding who should be the next England manager, very much stuck in their own ways and afraid to show any innovation
I can remember a couple of seasons back that Brighton were struggling to get a side together for a Senior Cup match and they allowed them time to rearrange the game- perhaps they were frightened about losing the stadium and their freebie evening -

I will make the observation that the Amex might be a lovely jolly for the blazers at the Sussex FA, but genuinely feel that it is the wrong venue for the SSC Final. A Bank-holiday afternoon at the likes of Eastbourne Borough was infinitely more enjoyable than an evening in that gloomy dungeon.
I was at that game, was n't it something like 6-1 to whitehawk ?
Our keeper was terrible, I think it was his first and last game for us.
One of Dean Saunders' first games. Gregory had left us without any GK cover in the squad and Jensen was injured against MK the previous Saturday. Joe Walsh sent off and we were lucky to lose 6-1.
Re this season, club website lists 38 players and 5 on loan makes 33. And we can't get a team out?
The two finals at the Amex were about the two worse Crawley games I’ve been to in recent years, once beaten by the Albion U21s and then by the Albion U18s, all in an atmosphere of the dark side of the moon. I love going to pre season friendlies and I’m even the kind of purist who loves the Papa John’s games but I’m drawing the line at the Senior Cup these days, save the money and go to an away game which actually counts for something

especially when Brighton stuck Crawley fans in the naughty corner for the final a few years ago.
