THERE AND BACK TO CARLISLE UNITED – What do you think?
We know that the game is in January and the weather can be unpredictable, snow, frozen/waterlogged pitches etc, which is a threat to our overnight trip – we have to be pragmatic about this trip. If this happened we wouldn’t get any refund or able to re-book for another time with the hotel – we would lose the money paid upfront for the hotel rooms as we have to confirm and pay by Mid-December which is only a few weeks away – at the moment we have only reserved them which means we can cancel and not pay any cancellation fees.
For some time now supporters have been asking about us doing a there and back in the day trip to Carlisle United, how many of you would be interested – if we got a minimum of 35 supporters booked on it would cost in the region of £40.00 as we would need to cover the cost of this trip as we did for the Hartlepool game earlier in the season.
We would leave the Stadium at 5.30am and wouldn’t be back until at least midnight – there would be a need to have a couple of stops on both journeys just to break it up and change over drivers. We would still do the buffet stop in Penrith before the game.
At the moment this is only to get a rough idea if there would be any interest – please let me know – It would be a very long time on the coach – basically 7 hours each way. If we did this option then we wouldn’t do our overnight coach which I can see upsetting some supporters who enjoy the weekenders. Please let me know – one condition we would make is the need for payment up front when booking as we wouldn’t want supporters dropping out the day before having not paid and leaving us with a hefty coach deficit.
As it stands at the moment we are doing the overnight trip – so please can you now start confirming your booking onto our second overnight trip of the season to Carlisle United – we have 12 booked on at the present time which again is not enough for this trip to run a coach so like a couple of years ago we just took a minibus – cost is £75 for a twin/Family room or £95 for a single occupancy room. Full details of the Carlisle United trip are on our website – www.ghcoaches.co.uk.
