At least there is plenty of advance notice and none of this Premier League last minute cancellations!
The Premier League are determined to press on. Will be interesting to see how many of their festive fixtures end up being postponed. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59732905

On a purely selfish note, I do try to watch us away at Stevenage as it is a nice little journey on the train but being boxing day was not convenient and a new date would not be disastrous in my mind. The largely Northern bias of the league means less chance to get away without giving up huge chunks of time. I raise my hat to the away fans who regularly go on trips. Make me wonder about the old chestnut of forming Northern & Southern sections of the league with playoffs to determine promotion. But if that happened I probably wouldn't see my favourite league 2 player the ever young Mr. Kevin Ellison.
From Boxing day no fans allowed at Any sporting event in Wales. Will Englandshire follow suit in the new year?
I'm so fed up of all this uncertainty. It's make planning your life so difficult. I'm hoping to watch a few games over the Christmas period, but in all honesty I feel like I'm not going to know if I can go to games until on the day at this point!
I agree with Yems on this, it's ridiculous the amount of games that are getting cancelled at the minute and I think it would have made more sense to call off all fixtures until 8th January at earliest, clearly some teams will have a bit of an advantage later on in the season if they don't have to cram in as many games at once. In order to fit in those games I would have moved the end of the regular season back by 10 days, made the playoff semi-final one leg at a neutral venue and cancel the rest of EFL trophy

My hope is that with the new data that came out earlier about the severity of the variant, it would much more likely lead to Boris not putting in any restrictions after Christmas
I've also seen the Scottish Premier League have responded to Sturgeon by bringing forward their winter break by a week

Simple solution here stop testing unless you actually are ill feeling ill. Non-league players dont do what PL/EFL do constant testing and their matches are carrying on and they cant seperate players in training and so on havent all the facilities PL/EFL have. Then lets get on with games. Simple.
