SUTTON UNITED – COACH TRAVEL.
With the match at Sutton only a few weeks away, 2nd April, we are going to start taking bookings for this trip now by text or E mail but you must pay before we travel to the game – we are anticipating that we will get good numbers travelling and want to let all those who want to travel on the coaches get seats.
We also want to make sure that we can organise the coaches required for this short trip from Premier, if they can’t provide those required we will organise the extra from another company for this game.
Costs for this trip will be £15.00 for all travellers and we will depart from the stadium at 1.00pm – to pay for your coach ticket before travel we will be in Redz at the next home matches with the coach tickets.
There is only accommodation for approximately 540 away supporters at Sutton’s ground. Our coaches will be parked in Collingwood Road which is by the away turnstiles a short walk through the park.
There are no “Bar” facilities at the ground for away supporters – evidently there are a few pubs within walking distance of the ground according to their website.
Should anyone fail to get a match ticket for the game who has booked on the supporters coaches you will get a full refund of your coach ticket.
To Book on please contact either Alain on 07771-792346 or Patrick via Twitter or Facebook
With the game being possibly being postponed due to the semi-final match between Wigan and Sutton in the Papa Johns trophy - the final is on the 3rd April - we are only taking booking at the moment - payment will be due when and if the our game has been confirmed for the 2nd April -
Only 540 away fans! Do they realise how many fans we took to Manchester?
Probably, but hardly any of those we took to Manchester seem to realise that we play league matches as well.
As a kid many many years ago in our non league days, I supported a league team as did most of my mates but watched Crawley much more often. Somehow it never seemed to be the same - no internet etc then so waiting for the Obby to appear to read the news whereas my 'league' team often got reported in the national press. I loved watching Crawley but at that time never thought we would / could be where we are now. Its possible that although the information is now much more realtime and we can chat on boards like this, many youngsters still feel that the top tiers are where it really counts. I'm sure there were threads a few years back on whether you can support two teams - I think you can but you do need to decide who the number one is.
Having been born near Charlton - I was always a supporter going to the Valley on many occasions but after several moves we ended up living in Crawley from the age of 12 - but once l stepped into Town Mead for a game l was hooked - l will always be a fan of Charlton but I support Crawley - and that’s been the case when the two teams have played each other - Crawley will always be No 1 - in those non league days we never dreamed of being in the Conference let alone a football league club- to be honest I still kick myself to see how far we have progressed with extremely limited fan base and budgets - just enjoy this time and back the club to do their best to keep us surviving- and get the youngsters to support our local team - it is improving all the time as we have seen on the coaches going to our away games.

Good point Alain.
The Wigan v Sutton match is on Tues 8th March, so we will know for sure after that. Personally I hope Wigan prevail so our league game against Sutton will be played on a Saturday. However if we end up playing Sutton away midweek, at least it's not too far to go!

I also hope Sutton don't get promoted, as they are currently our nearest away game.
...I still kick myself to see how far we have progressed with extremely limited fan base and budgets - just enjoy this time and back the club to do their best to keep us surviving- and get the youngsters to support our local team - it is improving all the time as we have seen on the coaches going to our away games.
I tried to explain the bond with a football club to someone who had presented a case that they are are equivalent to "Trigger's Broom", continually updated & replaced with no original parts... but - as Alain describes - that journey itself, is an integral part of the joy.
Ultimately we believe that: "We're All Gonna Make It"... even if the crew & direction of travel, are not always our own preferred options...!

I'm thinking the Hydra's heads might be more apt than Trig's broom; as one head is severed, another grows to replace it.
