I believe that recently the Football Authorities have started to take head trauma far more seriously and have issued revisions to the protocol, but am unclear if they are Laws, Rules or only Guidelines - for example: is Tilley now required to be rested for a set number of days - or is it still at the discretion of the Club Medical Staff...(?)
I tried to check on FA website. Whilst they give guidance, their appears to be no definitive time spell given. Left to the discretion of medical staff. I would not expect him to play this weekend though.
I remember a game we played away at Wimbledon where one of their players went off with concussion only to be sent back onto the field. After a couple of mistimed tackles the Wimbledon manager finally decided to substitute him. I wish I could remember the names.
We made 4 changes on Saturday, which took advantage of one revision they have introduced. You are now permitted up to two "concussion subs" per match (presumably to allow for a clash of heads between team-mates).
But there seemed to be very little other clear information. Which is rather surprising given the level of debate surrounding the long-term impact of heading the ball & specifically the risk of early onset dementia.

Too much time spent heading that leather ball in the rain...(?)
