Remember, it's not necessarily who you think is the best but who you think has served the club the best.

Glenn Morris; Richard Wood was the best defender I’ve seen play for Crawley but I guess we can’t include loanees; so Pablo Mills Sergio Torres Tyrone Barnett Steve Evans
Only one from each category makes this difficult, but I guess the names below are as good as any at the level they played: John Maggs Steve Breach (what a great name for a defender). The bald eagle, Mike Tomkys. Brian Gregory. The Fat Bastard (meant endearingly).
Steve Evans is by far the best manager this club has ever had, by a million miles, but I liked Matt Harold, oh and Francis Vines. A real character. Then so was Steve Evans!
I’m not sure he’s by far the best manager we’ve ever had, he’s a worthy candidate along with Francis Vines. They both won a promotion, Vines in his first full season.

As did Evans in his first full season ........... with money !!

That’s not too far away from the ones I would choose although it’s very difficult trying to pick just one. You may not like this JB, but Maggs would have to be a good shout for the goalkeeping position, although I guess that his playing days were before your time. I also can’t help feeling that Dave Haining should be in there somewhere, given that during his long association with the club, he covered 4 out of the 5 positions (unless anyone can remember him going in goal) plus other roles like first aid man with the bucket and sponge etc.
