Fourth lowest in the division. Good, we don't want to be wasting money on agents fees if we can help it. Looking at the non-league clubs who have come up recently, they have all spent more than double what we have. Apart from Salford, who seem to still be throwing money around like it's confetti. I wonder how much of our spend went to Selim
I'd be interested to see how much Everton have spent on agent fees in the last few years? As to me it's unbelievable that they've spent so much money and yet they are sleepwalking towards relegation with a bunch of players that couldn't give two monkeys about the club

One reason being a league 2 team at best is rewarding - at least we feel an affinity with players and manager If we ever hit the dizzy heights that wont be the case Imagine todays premier players mingling with the fans Ive had a few chats with the manager and players who mostly seem unaffected by the fame of playing for the mighty reds.
I honestly don't understand as to why the Club have to pay these Parasites anything. Surely, if the player chooses to employ an Agent, then, the player should foot the bill.

I think it's partly down to salaries not being that vastly different from those who come and watch the games, which I think does have a huge influence in how much contact the fans have with players and coaching staff at a club. Also the Premier League players are of a much higher profile too in terms of celebrity, social media following etc. so they're more likely to have security around them whenever entering and exiting the stadium on matchdays.
In terms of what happens if we ever were to reach the Premier League or even the Championship, that would all depend on what kind of culture is in place at the club and how many more fans we'd get. I'd imagine Man United players would be much harder to get hold of even for autographs and photos than say Brentford or Watford players
I do understand that many players won't have good negotiation skills or their inexperience might cause them to overlook certain aspects that turn out to be an important income stream. Therefore, it is helpful to have a more experienced head fighting their corner. I don't think there's much wrong with that. Where the problem lies is that some agents can end up taking from both parties and, consequently, might have a conflict of interest. Furthermore, a player could end up playing for one club rather than another because the agent receives a better deal, but the agent markets the transaction to the player in the way that many marketers operate, by only highlighting the positives and suppressing the negatives. I regard a lot (though not all) of marketing as having a close relationship with fraud.

When Mattias Pogba was playing for us, I was joined in the West Stand - cannot recall why I was not with the usual terrace mob - by a very nice gentleman who identified himself as his Cousin & Agent... he certainly had the swagger & attractive entourage to add credibility to the claim.
As it was the match wherein Doncaster trousered us by five goals, we were not too dazzled or distracted by the flowing skills on display and ended up having a lengthy chat. The subject inevitably came around to the younger Pogba sibling, Paul... who was playing in Italy at the time, but being linked with a big money move to most of the major football clubs in Europe, although he had left his former club under a cloud & a return to there was not viewed as likely.
To my great surprise, I was told "Don't rule out a return to Man Utd", it appears that the issue young Paul had there was with the manager, not the club, "he liked the club & would go back there now that Fergie is gone"... to which I replied "Yes, but Fergie still has so much influence there that - no matter how good he is - he will have to spend his time there dealing with backstabbers"... I did offer to carry his bags & offer him such insights on a regular baisis around the great cities of the world, although I suspect he may have lost my number by now.
Anyway... Turns out that I should have listened to him and gone straight to the bookies and put a bet on the move at very healthy odds... however, it equally turns out that maybe his Client would have benefited from him listening to me a bit more...!
Although it does all beg the question: "Is the job of an Agent to get the best deal for their Client... or simply to get the best deal"...(?)
