We as a group used to visit post match after every game and stay as late as possible , But hardly touch foot inside after match now as hate being confined to less than half its area and also having the bell rang and being forced out within 20 minutes. I love the venue and the drinks but feel most unwelcome after the game... The question is , next week is grand national day and would like to know if they are going to show the race as would like to watch it post match but with a 5.20 start is this possible ? I know to hire the bar out is a source of income for the club but moving forward an extention of drinking facilities after match for supporters would be welcome , even an invite to the posh bit for those who want to stay on would bring money into the club..
Agree totally. Lower league football you need a bar open for at least an hour after the game and sending a few players round on a rota would also bring the fans closer to the club

I don’t even drink and never go in Reds, but why is the club losing out on all that post match revenue from the drinkers?! Weird…

Maybe that's something that the potential new owners could help fix (if it does happen)

Afraid not, but I do hope it's fully open and stays open longer than 20 mins after games consistently this season. The QPR friendly was a worrying return to no room and no time, which will soon equal no customers.

I think you are right Dave, people will get fed up and start using other local pubs instead.
Last season was the worst I can remember for waiting at the bar.
As much as I like seeing the away fans in Redz and chatting with them, by creating and opening a bar for them down their end, that would improve waiting times for us.
And also , after the initial outlay, increase revenue !

It's a Win Win
To be honest, I see a lot more away fans gather at the New Moon before games rather than Redz Bar, so opening a service at that end of the ground will eventually pay off massively in terms of generating additional profit
Open a bar at the North end. Make the North end the home end (its where I always used to stand) and keep the bar open on Saturday nights with, maybe, live music or other entertainment. Redz could then be kept as a bookable venue for parties etc.
The extra money coming in to the clubs coffers will always be appreciated.

Yes Jim....I always thought the bar/home end should have been at the North end of the ground. I thought the lay by near the south end would also make sense for away fans coaches to pick up and drop off. I'm sure the yanks won't be lacking in that department even if they aren't performing so well in other areas.

I’m not sure hiring the bar out actually generates any revenue for the club, as it’s run by Rhona. I gather she leases Redz from the club.
