As a Fan Council, we do our best to bring your thoughts and questions to the owners. However, it is only fair that occasionally we get to ask you a question every so often The new owners are currently looking at creating a new website for Crawley Town! At the moment, our current website is a standard Football League template. I would say about 95% of FL use this standard template and so it would be nice for us to stand out a little bit from the rest. So the questions for you are
What would you want to see on a new CTFC website?
What do you use the current website for?
What do you like about the current site?
What do you not like about the current site?
*Normally I will try and keep all fan council releated things in one thread but as this is a question which will hopefully have lots of answers, I thought I'd do a seperate one.
It would be a good idea so any information etc is in one place not over multiple sites and it would be good if there was a question and answer ability. this would allow all the fans to see what questions are being asked and the answers and not kept just between the council member and the person asking the question.
I mainly use the current site for vital stuff like ticket info. I tend to prefer using social media particularly Twitter so it's not a first port of call for me. Don't think the current site is that bad as far as it goes but a revamp would obviously be a good thing given the growing interest in the club, better layout, better search would all be good. I think the club history stuff produced by the likes of Mick Fox and Steve Leake for match programmes shouldn't be lost but kept on a specific part of the site as a lot of work/love goes into these articles
The site should be kept up to date with players and squad numbers . Player biography are always interesting also highlighting whether the player is on loan. Full results together with teams for each match played would be interesting. The current website was rarely updated. This is all basic stuff. The OS needs to be the first place to visit for information on Crawley Town FC. A place where all new signings are announced as well as pre and post match information.
Optimise for speed, with key links always available...
Those links fixtures, tickets, results, news
An on this day would be neat and could probably be automated for most days, and hand crafted for match days..can include player birthdays and stuff like that
A next up ticker... With pricing and dates
Lots of good info about visiting the broadfield so away fans get used to it
Add the community trust into the main page... Give that props

not to fussed about content but do want to know what is the PRIME information source especially as the Wagmi model is probably not geared up to the standard web site model we are used to
What would you want to see on a new CTFC website? Top has to be a link to this fans forum! Link to club shop with something in store other than the odd clothung from last season.
What do you use the current website for? Ticket sales, latest news, fixtures, ifollow link mostly.
What do you like about the current site? Online ticket sales. Clear seat mapping select your seat, pay online and print e-ticket on your phone or email and also option to collect in advance and on day are vital important features. Arguably nothing is more important.
What do you not like about the current site? Links could be clearer. Keep it simple and it loads faster. Fancy isnt always best, remember after few seconds ppl give up on web pages half-loaded. Nothing overly wrong with whats already there.
You guys have covered it all i think. A range of option to purchase match tickets from a stadium map as George mentions is key stuff. Perhaps add when forthcoming match tickets will be available.
