It's been common knowledge for a fair bit but the club have now officially launched the B team, and they will play their first fixture vs Bracknell tonight. Bear in mind that Bracknell play their home games at Sandhurst Town FC's ground which isn't a very long walk at all from Sandhurst station.
It says on it that this team will provide an oppourtunity for first team regulars to gain extra match fitness (hence why Ludwig is probably included here) as well as giving younger players a chance to prove themselves in a match environment. I will also imagine that we will be entering this team into Sussex Senior Cups from now on too as it would make more sense
Not going to puck and choose the squad but I would've thought some of the loanees we've signed and some of the players who were absent due not up to fitness levels should be included.
They didn't look that bad to be fair for a newly promoted 7th tier club, and I think for a few of our yonger players matches like this will be far better for their development than just training every week like it was previously. However I do think and hope we will be filling up the B squad with a few better players soon though
We were terrible; consistently trying to play out from the back but the ball was often passed to someone not in a good position to receive it. Yes, play out from the back if players are in space but we were closed down quickly as Bracknell pressed and we would end up trying to fight them off from our own corner flag. At times it just needed to go long to push back the press but we rarely, if ever, did that. No one stood out for me; Oteh showed some flashes but Francillette looked way off the pace and very uncomfortable at left back. I get that this was the first real outing as a team but things definitely need to improve. Credit to Bracknell, they played well and showed real determination.
