My old Maths Teacher at The Ifield School, Neville Marsden was a big Burnley fan. He used to arrange trips to the Capital whenever Burnley played and for some strange reason, I've always wanted to go to Turf Moor, so now I have the chance........... I wonder if "Sir" is still alive?

I don't know if he's still with us, but I remember him too. One day, he caught the kid sitting next to me eating in class. Rather than punishing him he gave him a couple of house points in exchange for his pork pie - then sat at the front of the class eating it!
To keep it on football, I recall there were sometimes football conversations in maths classes, but I didn't know he was a Burnley fan. I remembering him berating the Chelsea manager for bringing Osgood off in the Chelsea - Leeds FA Cup replay.
I definitely hope so, going back to the glory days of a decade ago I think this is the equivalent of the Hull game back then which I'm still kicking myself I didn't go to
I’ll be making the long journey, hopefully we can take 300-400 up there and make ourselves heard in front of what will probably be a fairly modest home crowd

Yes that was a night to remember but Burnley away in midweek is a tough one for us all especially if need to work next day.

Just before the draw I was promising myself that I wouldn't let a long trip up north be a deterrent to going. I would have loved Newcastle, as I've never been. Burnley though? Hmmm. Been to a couple of matches there and never had a great urge to rush back. Decide nearer the time.

The joys of being retired and having a Son living eleven miles from Burnley !!!
