Last Week Jurgen Klopp was surprised that Crawley Town have not used James Balagizi in a Defensive Midfield Role.
He Said in the Liverpool Echo Last Week - 'James is Skillful Going Forward and Can Finish Off Goal Scoring Chances, but I would use him in Defensive Midfield Role. He is Dogged, he has Endurance and he is a Battler'.
So Why the Hell are we not using him in this role?
Betsy - You should be setting up as a 4-1-4-1 or 4-1-3-2 and Balagizi in the Hole, and then shots/results/everything may change. If you are'nt taking Klopp's views on Board - you'll be gone in 2 weeks.

Klopp also says - 'James is Exceptional at Reading the Game', and he would be at Crawley Town for the Remainder of the Season. Indicating there was No Opt Out Clause to get him back at Liverpool this Season if they so wanted!

Meh I disagree, I think he’s way more dangerous in an attacking role. Klopp can say what he likes but I doubt he’s grasped the tactics and dynamics of the squad and who he’s playing with
Well he's playing in League Two not the Premier League so I'm sure that that must change the dyncamics a bit. I'm sure many talented players are capable of playing mutiple positions, but I feel at his age he needs to find one position and stick to it if he wants to establish himself in the Premier League one day.

Well, from what I’ve seen so far this season, (and I suspect Klopp hasn’t) Balagizi is of more use to us in an attacking midfielder role than a defensive one.
I do agree that we need someone who is a really good battling tackler in midfield, but nothing so far has indicated to me that Balagizi is that player.

Agree with this. We've been crying out for a decent attacking midfielder for ages. Balagizi is that player and is performing fantastically for us. You can tell it really means a lot to him to be playing actual competitive football, rather than academy U-23 games which is all he's known previously. And he genuinely loves being here at CTFC too.
We have enough DMs without adding another one. We needed a decent AM. Funnily enough Liverpool have the same problem. Such a shame he's only on loan to us.
Balagizi has been used mostly in defensive midfield positions this season. The forum troll would know that if ever watched one of our games, but he doesn’t.

Yes he was to start with.
And he was against Stockport. Sometimes Betsy will push him behind the front two within the game if he takes off another advanced player, as he did when Tilley was subbed

I dont know what games you are all watching, but he has NEVER Played in the Hole All Season.
He has always played side by side in MIdfield Next to Powell, Hess, Jenks or Francomb or Just Behind the Front 2.
It was Clear in his Article in the Echo that Klopp thinks Balagizi playing in the HOLE in a 4-1-4-1 or 4-1-3-2 Reading the Game and Sweeping up the Trouble behind the Midfielders was his Ideal Position.
Yes he is a Good Attacking Midfielder but we have not got a Good 'DCM' and not had one for a long time!
Will be interesting tomorrow to see if Betsy has Read the Klopp Article in the Echo.

Can you watch one of our games? We play two defensive midfielders and one attacking midfielder, Balagizi is invariably picked as one of the two DMs
