This wording in the website article is laughable for three reasons.
Firstly, (although I admire the clubs optimism) are England really going to get as far as the quarter-finals?
Secondly, if England reach the quarter-finals by winning their group and play on Sat 10th Dec, the game would kick off at 7pm. A 3pm kick off at Broadband gives home fans ample time to get home/in the pub to watch the England game.
Thirdly (and this is the proper own goal) if England reach the quarter-finals by finishing runners up in their group, then they will be playing on Fri 9th Dec anyway with a 7pm kick off🤦♂️ Now that would to quote the club ‘greatly affect the home and away attendance’
Let’s face it, regardless of whatever day of the week and kick off time we play Hartlepool at home, there is hardly going to be thousands of away fans making the long journey south.

When you put it like that its absolute madness - why not wait and see if it needs changing at all!

Firstly, yes I’d like to think so. The rest I agree with, especially the third point! So it’s rearrange to avoid 3pm v 7pm clash…and run the risk of 7.45 v 7pm….🤔🤦♂️
When you think they could even host the World Cup game in the Redz bar at 7pm to make extra money - a kind of double header - you just facepalm even more.
My inkling is they wanted to try a Friday game with low away attendance to see if there was a market for Friday football in Crawley, and the World Cup seemed a good time given everyone would be footy focused. But this may not be the most practical one
When we've played Hartlepool on a Saturday in the past, they brought a strong support.
Surely, if we were to try a Friday night game, playing a club closer to home would make more sense, not only to create more revenue but also for a better atmosphere !!

Club website now showing this in fixtures back to Sat 10th 3pm cant see any announcement on this did I miss something? It would be helpful to see an official news item the date changed again but I cannot see this.
Hartlepool have started selling their ticket allocation on the basis that it's a Friday night game, so I think we can probably assume Friday night is finalised now. Our website is appalling in not making sure fixture information is kept up to date and correct.
The club’s don’t update the websites themselves it’s an outside company who run these EFL sites- the club passes the information to them to put it on - agree that it’s not good enough though
If I were to pay for ifollow and found the game already played would I get my money back? According to Football Web Pages App and BBC its on Saturday www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/crawley-town/scores-fixtures/2022-12 Depending on England and if and how they progress in the World Cup England could play Friday or Saturday, so will this fixture yo-yo and change again? The confusion makes us look very non-league.
