Etherington was told there is no money to spend in January (as I predicted on the Lower League Look Twitter Space yesterday) and resigned
Credit to Etherington and Davies if this is the case. If you have been blatantly lied to it's best to get out straight away.
That is the most reasonable conclusion - that Etherington and Davies were fed a load of bull.
If funding is so poor that we can't upgrade in the transfer window, another reasonable conclusion might be that we are on our way out of the league without actually being relegated on results.
Wow, that escalated quickly. I heard a bit of the Twitter space last night and I thought that the presence of a few players in the audience for what was, for the most part, an evisceration of the club by the fans was a telling sign of trouble brewing behind the scenes but this rather confirms that suspicion beyond all doubt.
Hiring a good new manager is not going to be an easy task given the high turnover of recent months let alone the owner interference in team selection to the point of publicly stating that it was written in to Etherington's contract. I don't care how much money you have to splash on new players, there's a lot of red flags that will put a lot of people off and the same will go for attracting the right type of players in January.
I don't envy you fans because the rest of the season is going to suck.
Where’s Steve? Missing his comments about how we are idiots for questioning Wagmi’s decisions! How we are idiots for questioning the summer signings? How we are idiots for questioning that running a football club based on stats is doomed to failure? Yes Steve you were right all along!!!!
What the hell is going on at the club? We need answers from the club now?! Seems the happy go lucky open to talk owners have gone silent recently?! Will the CTSA be demanding a meeting with the owners ASAP. First selling one of our best players to a relegation rival mid season and now the manager leaves a few weeks into the job with the statement saying not the right fit! What the hell does that mean? They’ve had 2 months between Betsy leaving and the new managers being appointed to discuss of its the right fit for both parties. So were Etherington and Davies lied to? Would this explain Etherington’s downbeat manner? I thought WAGMI should have been given the benefit of the doubt and thought they made a great start to their ownership tenure being so open and approachable at first and with good initiatives like reduced ticket prices and more food options at games, but this is turning into a shambles now! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING!!!!
